Chicago Electric 99760 is a 12V Diesel Transfer Pump with a 10 GPM maximum capacity and a 1/4 HP motor. It is designed to pump diesel fuel or light oil only. from the power source and/or the
battery before making any adjust-
ments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preven-

of starting the power tool accidentally.
Store idle power tools out of the d.

tool or these instructions to oper-
ate the power tool. Power tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained

*A “30 minute duty cycle” means that
this tool may be used for a total of 30 min-
utes in each 1 hour period. For example, it
could be used for 10 minute intervals on,
then 10 minute intervals off, resulting in 30
minutes of use in each 60 minute cycle.
Overuse will cause excessive wear to this
tool or premature failure.

When unpacking, check to make sure
that the item is intact and undamaged. If
any parts are missing or broken, please

shown on the cover of this manual as soon

INSTRUCTIONS FOR
PUTTING INTO USE

Disconnect the tool from its
electrical power source before
assembling or making any
adjustments to the tool.
Note: For additional information regarding
the parts listed in the following pages,
refer to the Assembly Diagram near
the end of this manual.
Assembly
Notice the Flow Direction arrow 1.

This pump will transfer up to 10 Gal-1.

Tool Set Up
TO PREVENT
SERIOUS INJURY
FROM ACCIDENTAL
OPERATION:
Unplug the tool from its power
source before performing any
inspection, maintenance, or
cleaning procedures.
Work Piece and Work Area Set Up
Designate a work area that is clean 1.
and well-lit. The work area must not
allow access by children or pets to
prevent injury and distraction.
Route the Power Cables along a safe 2.
route from the Battery (not included)
to the work area without creating a
tripping hazard or exposing the Pow-
er Cables to possible damage. The
Power Cables must reach the work
area with enough extra length to al-
low free movement while working.
There must not be hazardous ob-3.
jects, such as utility lines or foreign
objects, nearby that will present a
hazard while working.
Have rags ready to clean up any 4.
spilled diesel fuel.
General Operating Instructions
Connect the Power Cables to your 1.
12 Volt battery (not included) by
attaching the clamps to the battery
terminals. Be sure to connect the
Red clamp to the Positive (+) battery
terminal, and the Black clamp to the
Negative (-) battery terminal. If you
do not connect the clamps to the cor-
rect polarity, the pump will not func-
tion properly.

Secure a good quality strainer (not 2.
included) to the end of the suction
hose. Insert the intake hose (not in-
cluded) into the source tank of diesel
fuel. Be sure the strainer is fully im-
mersed in uid.
Insert the Nozzle into the destination 3.
tank.
Press the Power Switch (5) down to 4.
start the pump.
Squeeze the Handle Trigger to dis-5.
charge fuel into the destination tank.
Do not let go of the handle during fuel
transfer.
When fuel has been transferred, let 6.
go of the Handle Trigger. When fuel
stops owing, turn the Pump off.
Remove Handle from destination tank
and place in a secure location.
Cap the destination tank to prevent 7.
fuel spilling.
Remove the intake hose from the 8.
source tank, allowing fuel to drain out
of the hose before removing it. Cap
the source tank to prevent spills.
Clean, then store the tool indoors out 9.

MAINTENANCE AND
SERVICING

TO PREVENT
SERIOUS INJURY
FROM TOOL FAILURE:
Do not use damaged
equipment. If abnormal noise
or vibration occurs, have the
problem corrected before
further use.
Cleaning, Maintenance, and
Lubrication
BEFORE EACH USE,1. inspect the
general condition of the tool. Check
for loose screws, misalignment or
binding of moving parts, cracked or
broken parts, leaking hoses, dam-
aged electrical wiring, and any other
condition that may affect its safe
operation.
Replacing the Fuse. 2. Loosen the two
screws holding the Rear Cover (2) in
place. Remove the Rear Cover, ex-
posing the Fuse (19) and Fuse Carri-
er (18). Replace the Fuse by pulling it
straight out of the Carrier, and press-
ing a new Fuse in place. Replace the
Rear Cover.
AFTER USE,3. clean external surfaces
of the tool with clean cloth.
4. WARNING! If the Power Cables
of this power tool are damaged,
they must be replaced only by a
qualied service technician.
