MOUNTING

TO PREVENT
SERIOUS INJURY

OPERATION OR ELECTRIC
SHOCK:
Before assembly, cleaning or
adjustment, make sure the
switch is turned off, the cord
is unplugged, and the unit has
cooled.
Note: For additional information regarding
parts listed, refer to Assembly Dia-
gram at back of manual.
Mount on a wall.
Attach sheet metal brackets securely 1.
to adjustable braces in the back of
the framing with the eight supplied
bolts (two per bracket) through the
counter-sunk holes. (See Fig. 1.)
Once brackets are in place, place the 2.
Panel onto the mounting surface and
mark where the screws will go.
Note: Verify that installation surface has
no hidden utility lines before drilling or
driving screws.
Drill the mounting holes with the 3.
proper size drill bit.
Plug the white plastic cable plug into 4.
the connection on the back of the
panel.

It is advisable to clamp the cable a.

material such as plastic or wood to
keep them from touching.
With the help of an assistant (if nec-5.
essary) to hold the Panel steady and
in place, drive the supplied screws
through the smaller mounting holes
and into the holes drilled into the
mounting surface.
The solar panel is now ready to be at-6.
tached to a battery for recharging.
Mount on horizontal surface
The Solar Panel (1) can be placed 1.
at on the ground or oor, or placed
at an angle using the two supplied
threaded Mounting Stand Rods (6).
(See Fig. 2.)

cable plug can be plugged into the
electrical connection with the clamps
attached to non-conductive material.

The Mounting Stand Rods (6) thread a.

the frame at the opposite end from
the connector.
The Mounting Stand Rods can be 3.
moved closer to the center of the
frame to give a greater angle if de-
sired.
With the panel placed at the desired 4.
location, the cable clamps can now
be attached to the proper battery
terminals.

INSPECTION AND

Before Solar Panel inspection
or maintenance, make sure
the Solar Panel’s cord is
unplugged, and the unit has
cooled completely.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS
INJURY FROM APPLIANCE
FAILURE:
Do not use damaged Solar
Panels. If abnormal noise or
vibration occurs, have the
problem corrected before
further use.
Periodically inspect the general 1.
condition of the Solar Panel. Check
for broken glass, damaged electrical
wiring or any other condition which
may affect its safe operation
Do not use Solar Panels that are 2.
damaged in any way.
Do not leave the Panel unattended 3.
and attached to any appliance, light
or motor which may cause injury or
damage if it operates without supervi-
sion.
Keep the Solar Panel clean. Wipe it 4.
occasionally with a damp cloth using
mild detergent. Do not use abrasive
cleaners. Dirt on the glass will reduce
the capacity of the panel to receive
sunlight.
