Before Installing
In order to link two or more HMS-4X Main Stations over Ethernet or Fiber you need to ensure that all
HMS-4X are updated to a 1.1.x or more recent software. The most recent HelixNet software can be
found in the Support area of the Clear-Com web page (www.clearcom.com).
Note: Linked devices must be running the same version of software.
Installing Linking Modules
Warning: The interface modules are not hot pluggable. Ensure that the
Main Station is powered down before inserting or removing modules.
To install either an Ethernet (HLI-ET2) or a Fiber (HLI-FBS) interface module to the HMS-4X Main
Station:
1. Disconnect the HMS-4X Main Station
from mains power.
2. Remove the blanking plate ( ) and insert the
interface module ( ) into the module bay.
3. Reconnect the HMS-4X Main Station
to mains power.
To configure the networking preferences, navigate to Menu > Networking.
Quick Setup with HLI-ET2 Ethernet
1. Connect Cat5 or Cat6 cable from one HLI-ET2 port on one Main Station to one HLI-ET2 port on
another Main Station.
2. On one Main Station navigate to Menu > Networking > Linking > Link Mode > Master and
