FAQs:
1. One or more Components are not installed. Please reinstall Again.
Reasons:
o Isolated shell is not installed properly.
o This could be because of your virus scan or firewall trying to block our
exe files to install properly. Please see FAQ 5 for further details.
o Few of the components are not registered properly.
Solution:
o Go to Power PMAC Suite\VS folder and right click “vs_shell.msi” and select
install. If this step couldn’t resolve the problem, then please see FAQ 5 for
further details.
o Please see FAQ 5 solution.
o Open command prompt and navigate to your Power PMAC Suite folder and
type
o Please wait until the PowerPmacSuite.exe process exits from Task Manager.
and then try to run the IDE.
2. %PPSystemRoot%: Creates a folder on the desktop.
Impact: Few of Language Code Snippets won’t work.
Solution: Run the command prompt as administrator and navigate to Power PMAC
Suite Folder and type “PowerPmacSuite.exe” /setup and press ENTER. Please monitor
“PowerPmacSuite.exe” under the “Processes” tab in the Task Manager. Once it’s done,
you can delete %PPSystemRoot% folder from desktop and start the IDE.
3. Project Examples in the start menu won’t open in the new instance of Power PMAC
IDE
Solution:
Set the following registry
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\(
whatever extension u want)\OpenWith
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\(
whatever extension u want)\OpenWithProgids
For example:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.Pow
erPmacSuite_sln\OpenWith key with
Name “a”
Value: PowerPmacSuite.exe (some times its POWERPMACSUITE.EXE)
Name MRUList
Value: a
4. Do you want to overwrite the file while unzipping project examples?
Reason: Installation will delete the old examples in the project examples folder. If there
is any problem then few files will be left over in that folder. So, when unzipping
projectexamples.exe file, it will ask whether to overwrite or not.
Solution:
o Make sure while installing/repairing close the windows explorer pointing to
Power PMAC Suite folder.
o Type “A” and press ENTER
5. This application needs valid shell load key.
Reason: This could be because of your virus scan or firewall which is trying to block our
.exe files and the files which needs to update the registry.
Solution: Please disable your firewall or virus scan and start IDE installation. Once it’s
successful, you can enable/turn on the virus scan or firewall.
6. Repair not overwriting any files to the installation folder.
Solution: Please uninstall the IDE and reinstall the IDE as fresh installation.
7. Installation Aborts If
o Power PMAC IDE is running
o Power PMAC IDE 2005 is installed.
o Target system doesn’t have windows XP service pack 2 or 3
o Target system doesn’t have windows installer 3.1 and 4.5
o User trying to install is not an administrator.
o Disk space is not enough. We need 4GB space for the IDE Installation.
o Target systems is NOT one of these

8. Fatal error that the component id: {AFF0D639-AE76-4998-8FCD-9DA39444FDA1}
couldn’t register and the installation aborts.
Reason: This could be because that target machine doesn’t has any version of .NET
framework installed on it.
Solution:
Either you could download .NET framework (any version) from internet and
install it OR,
Navigate to “VS” folder in installation files folder, and get the
“EnglishVsShell.exe” or “GermanVSShell.exe” depending on the language of
your OS and extract it. After extracting, please find “dotnetfx35.exe” and launch
it. This will install .NET framework 3.5 on the target machine. This will resolve
the above issue.
Steps to Remove/Uninstall IDE manually:
During uninstalling of any software product, if there are any fatal, standard errors, it
won’t uninstall the product completely from the machine. There will be some residues in
the registries, in the folders too.
1. Open Registry editor.
2. Delete
“HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall\\
{C9BF10FD-97ED-48F9-9302-5A2CA49B6AE8}
And
HKLM\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall\\
InstallShield_{C9BF10FD-97ED-48F9-9302-5A2CA49B6AE8}
Deleting these two registries will make the installation to start as new installation
next time.
3. Navigate to the “Power PMAC Suite” folder and delete all the files.
4. Delete “HKLM\\Software\\Microsoft\\Delta Tau Data Systems Inc” key.
