Theradiocanoperateinthefollowingmodes:

Awideareanetwork(WAN)isanetworkthatcoversa

broadarea.Theworld'smostpopularWANisthe

Internet.

Inacommonlyusedsetup,theWANportofanaccess

pointconnectstoamodemviaanEthernetcable.A

modemcanbeacable,digitalsubscri berline(DSL), or

fiberopticmodem.Amodemtranslatesthesignal

fromtheinternetserviceprovider(ISP)toEthernet

signalsthattheaccesspointcanunderstand.This

allows

theaccesspointtohaveinternetconnection.

Otherdevicescalledstationsconnectwirelesslyto

thisaccesspoint.ThesedevicescanbeotherAltum

radios,mobilephones,printers,IPcamer as,laptops.
