This device is used to wirelessly connect Wi-Fi-enabled devices to each other to form a wireless
local area network or to connect to the Internet. Use the device only as described in this user
manual. Any other use or use under other operating conditions is considered to be improper
and may result in personal injury or property damage. No liability will be assumed for damages
resulting from improper use.
This device may be used only by persons with sucient physical, sensorial, and intellectual
abilities and having corresponding knowledge and experience. Other persons may use this
device only if they are supervised or instructed by a person who is responsible for their safety.

Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of properly and are not within reach of babies and young children. Choking
hazard! Ensure that children do not detach any small parts (e.g. knobs or the like) from the unit. They could swallow the pieces and

External power supply
The device is powered by an external power supply. Before connecting the external power supply, ensure that the input voltage (AC
outlet) matches the voltage rating of the device and that the AC outlet is protected by a residual current circuit breaker. Failure to do
so could result in damage to the device and possibly the user. Unplug the external power supply before electrical storms occur and
when the device is unused for long periods of time to reduce the risk of electric shock or re.

Operating conditions
This device has been designed for indoor use only. To prevent damage, never expose the device to any liquid or moisture. Avoid
direct sunlight, heavy dirt, and strong vibrations. Only operate the device within the ambient conditions specied in the chapter
‘Technical specications’ of this user manual. Avoid heavy temperature uctuations and do not switch the device on immediately
after it was exposed to temperature uctuations (for example after transport at low outside temperatures). Dust and dirt inside can
damage the unit. When operated in harmful ambient conditions (dust, smoke, nicotine, fog, etc.), the unit should be maintained by
qualied service personnel at regular intervals to prevent overheating and other malfunction.

cause permanent dark stains. In case of doubt, do not put the rubber feet directly on the surface and use a suitable underlay if neces‐

Unpack and check carefully there is no transportation damage before using the unit. Keep the
equipment packaging. To fully protect the product against vibration, dust and moisture during
transportation or storage use the original packaging or your own packaging material suitable
for transport or storage, respectively.
Create all connections while the device is o. Use the shortest possible high-quality cables for
all connections. Take care when running the cables to prevent tripping hazards.

1. If you want to operate the device together with an existing DSL connection, connect the
WAN socket of the router to the appropriate port at your DSL transfer point.
2. If you want to congure the router: Connect the LAN port of the device to your PC via an
Ethernet network cable.
3. Screw the four supplied antennas to the connectors on the front panel of the unit.
4. Connect the device via a suitable mains cable to the power supply.
5. Turn the mains switch on.
ðA few seconds after switching on the main switch, the device is ready for use.

4.1 PC setup (Windows® 10 operating system)
Activate WIFI on your PC.
1. Start the web browser of your PC.
2. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar of the web browser. Conrm with
[ENTER].
3. Enter the password and click ‘Login’ . The default password is ‘admin’ .
ðThe ‘Basic’ page opens up. The connection status is displayed.

4. Under ‘Operation Mode’ , select the ‘Gateway Mode’ of the router.
5. Under ‘Quick Setup’ , select the type of access to the network.
With ‘Dynamic IP’ , the router is automatically assigned an available dynamic IP address
by the ISP's DHCP server (Dynamic Host Conguration Protocol).
Select ‘Static IP’ if your Internet service provider has provided you with a xed IP
address. The values for ‘IP Address’ , ‘Subnet Mask’ and ‘DNS’ are available from your
Internet service provider.
PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) is a virtual, private protocol and enables
encapsulated data transport. Select ‘PPPoE’ if your internet service provider oers this
option. User name and password are available from your internet service provider.
PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol) is a virtual, private protocol that is used to set
up a Virtual Private Network (VPN) in a computer network. Select ‘PPTP’ if your internet
service provider oers this option. User name and password are available from your
internet service provider.
L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol) is a network protocol that tunnels frames of data link
layer protocols of the OSI model through routers between two networks over an IP net‐
work. Select ‘L2TP’ if your internet service provider oers this option. User name and
password are available from your internet service provider.

6. Conrm with ‘Next’ .
7. Under ‘IPTV’ , you can enable IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) to broadcast TV pro‐
grammes and lms.
8. Conrm with ‘Next’ .
9. Under ‘Wireless’ , you can change the default SSID and Encryption parameters for
‘Wireless 2.4GHz’ or ‘Wireless 5GHz’ respectively, if required.
10. Conrm with ‘Next’ .
11. The settings are now displayed under ‘Summary’ . Complete the setup with ‘Done’ .

1. Click the Networks icon in the taskbar.
ðThe available networks are displayed.
2. Select the network you want to connect to. Tick the box next to ‘Connect automatically’
and click ‘Connect’ .
ðThe Wi-Fi connection is established.

4.2 Cell phone setup (Android®)
1. Turn on your cell phone.
2. Activate Wi-Fi and select ‘Swissonic Router 2 MKII 5G’ .
ðThe Wi-Fi connection with the cell phone is established.
