AC OPERATION
Connect the plug to the AC socket of the unit and the other end to a standard AC outlet.
ATTENTION
1. Do not plug or unplug the power cable while you have wet hands;
2. When planning not to use this unit for a long time, disconnect the power cable from the wall outlet;
3. When disconnecting the power cord from the wall outlet, do not pull on the cord in order to avoid shock risks caused by
damaged cable.
BATTERY OPERATION
Disconnect the AC Cord Set completely. Open the Battery Compartment Door and insert eight pieces UM-1 "D" size batteries
into the battery compartment with battery polarity as shown inside the battery compartment.
SET THE CORRECT TIME
Before starting to set the time, make sure that the unit is turned off.
1. Press and hold the Time Set button and press the Hour button to set the hour.;
2. Press and hole the Time Set button and press the Minute button to set the minute.
MP3/AUX IN CONNECTION
1. Insert the audio cable (requires 3.5mm stereo plug, not supplied) into the Line Out Jack or Phones Jack on your MP3
Player into the corresponding AUX Input Jack on your main unit;
2. Turn on your main unit and slide the Function Selector to AUX position;
3. Make sure your AUX in component is turned on, and follow your component’s instruction;
4. To stop this function, simply slide the Function Selector to Tape position.
RADIO OPERATION
1. Press the Power Button to turn the unit on;
2. Set the Function Selector to Radio position;
3. Select the desired frequency band with the Band Selector;
4. Adjust the Tuning Control to tune in a radio station.
FM STEREO INDICATOR
When turn to a FM stereo broadcast the "FM ST." LED Indicator will light up.
ANTENNA
For best reception, fully extend the FM Antenna to receive FM stations. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in antenna, turn
the whole unit for best reception.
CASSETTE OPERATION
Tape Playback
1. Press the Eject Button to open the cassette door, insert a cassette tape into the Cassette Compartment and push the
cassette door to close;
2. Slide the Function Switch to Tape position and press the Play Button to start playing the tape;
3. Adjust the Volume Control Knob to your desired volume level;
4. To stop the tape, simply press the Stop Button.
Fast Forward and Rewind
The tape can be fast forward or rewind by pressing the Fast Forward Button or Rewind Button respectively.
Pause Function
During playback or recording, the tape can be stopped temporarily by pressing the Pause Button. To continue playback or
recording, press the Pause Button once again.

Auto Stop System
When the tape runs to its end during playback or recording, the cassette operation will be stopped automatically.
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the cassette mechanism or to the cassette tape, always press the Stop Button between each
operation
RECORDING FROM THE RADIO
1. Tune to desired radio program as described in the "Radio Operation" section;
2. Insert a blank cassette tape into the Cassette Compartment;
3. Press the Record Button and the Play Button simultaneously to start recording. With the built-in Automatic Level Control
(ALC), the best recording quality is automatically adjusted. Changing the volume level will not affect the recording;
4. To stop recording temporarily, press the Pause Button. To continue the recording, press the Pause Button once again;
5. Press the Stop Button to stop recording;
6. When the tape runs to its end, the cassette operation will be stopped automatically.
CD OPERATION
Playing CD
Getting Start
NOTE:
Should skipping of tracks occur during CD playing, try turning the volume down. When CD is playing, do not open the
CD Door.
1. Open the CD Door by pressing the CD Open Door Button. Put a CD into the CD Compartment and close the CD Door. Set
the Function Switch to "CD" position;
2. When the CD Door is closed with a CD inside, the total number of tracks will be shown on the CD LCD Display and it will
go to "STOP" mode;
3. If the CD Door is not closed or there is no disc inside and it will go to "STOP" mode.
Play/Pause Mode
1. When the Play/Pause Button is pressed during "STOP" mode, the first track will be played. The LCD Display will show the
specific number of tracks played;
2. For interruption while the CD is playing, press the CD Play/Pause Button once. The Play/Pause Indicator will flash
continuously;
3. Though the sound stops, the disc will continue to spin. To re-start playing, press the CD Play/Pause Button once again.
The music will start from the exact position where it was interrupted;
4. To stop the CD, press the CD Stop Button once whether the CD is in Play or Pause mode.
Repeat Mode
REPEAT 1: When the CD Mode Button is pressed once, the Repeat icon will appear in the LCD display. This single track will
be repeated;
REPEAT ALL: When the CD Mode Button is pressed twice, the Repeat All icon will appear in the LCD display. The whole disc
will be played continuously;
TO CANCEL THE REPEAT FUNCTION: Press the CD Mode Button until the Repeat icon disappear in the LCD display.
Skip and Search Mode
1. During Play or Pause mode, when CD Skip Up or CD Skip Down button is pressed once, it will go to the next track or go
back to the beginning of the track;
2. During play mode, when CD Skip Up or CD Skip Down button is pressed and held, it will search the track with audible high
speed forward or backward playback.

Program Mode
1. During the CD Stop mode, press the Program Button once and “PROGRAM 01” will start flashing in the LCD display.
Press the CD Skip Up or CD Skip Down button to your desired musical track, the LCD Display will show the appropriate
track number and press Program Button;
2. The selected will store in the memory and the “PROGRAM 02” will start flashing in the LCD display.
3. Repeat above procedure until all desired tracks have been programmed. Up to 20 tracks can be programmed;
4. To start the programmed playback, press the CD Play/Pause Button once;
5. To cancel the programmed play mode, simply open the CD Door.
RECORDING FROM CD PLAYER
1. Slide the Function Switch to "CD" position;
2. Put a CD into the CD compartment with the label on top;
3. Insert a blank cassette into the Cassette compartment and press Pause Button of the cassette deck;
4. Press Record Button and Play Button simultaneously of recording stand-by;
5. Activate the CD player, playing in a desired track as described in the CD Player Operation section. Release the Pause
Button of the cassette deck to start recording;
6. To temporary stop recording, press the Pause Button. To continue recording, press the Pause Button again;
7. Press Stop Button of the cassette deck to stop recording, then stop CD playback by pressing CD Stop Button of the CD
player.
REMOTE CONTROL
Open the Battery Compartment Door and insert two pieces "AA" size batteries into the battery compartment with battery
polarity as shown inside the battery compartment.
Point the remote control at the remote sensor. The functions of the buttons on the remote control are same as the
corresponding controls on the main unit.

STEREO HEADPHONE JACK
For private listening, insert the plug of a stereo headphone into the Stereo Headphone Jack and adjust the Volume Control
Knob accordingly. During the use of a headphone, the speakers are automatically disconnected.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning The Tape Heads
Clean the heads frequently to remove dust and tape residue. Dirt on the heads will impair the sound quality of both recording
and playback.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Precautions
1. Always turn off the unit after use.
2. Keep the unit away from magnetic objects, water or heat sources.
3. Use a clean soft cloth moistened with lukewarm water to clean the cabinet. Never use chemical cleaners that could
damage the finish of the unit.
4. Never touch the CD pickup and lens. If fingerprints get on the pickup lens, clean it gently with a commercial lens cleaner.
5. Disconnect the unit from any power sources before cleaning.
