Introduction
Use the ECT600P to perform quick checks of AC
Volts, DC Volts, Continuity and 3 Phase sequence.
LED’s indicate Voltage level and DC polarity, tone
provides audible indication of Continuity.

Safety Notes
• Never use the tester if it or the test leads
appear damaged.
• Never apply more than 600V DC or 600V AC
rms.betweenanyterminalandearthground.
•Indicatesdangerousvoltagepresentatthe
terminals if the LED turns on.
• Whenusingtheprobes,donottouchthemetal
probe tips.
• Disconnect the live test lead before disconnecting
the common test lead.
•Donottestinwetlocations.
• Before each use, verify the tester’s operation by
measuringaknownvoltage.
Operating Instructions
Automatic Operation
Thetesterautomaticallyturnsonwhenyouplace
the probes across a complete circuit. The tester
selects continuity or DC or AC voltage mode based
ontheresistanceorvoltagebetweentheprobes.
Thetesterautomaticallyturnsoffwhenyouremove
the probes from the complete circuit.
Measuring Voltage
Connect test leads across the source or load under
measurement.TheLED’sturnonatbetween70%
and100%oftheirratedvoltages.
Polarity of red test lead
is indicated by LED.

TheECT600Piswarrantedtobefreefromdefectsin
materialsandworkmanshipforaperiodofoneyearfromthe
dateofpurchase.Ifwithinthewarrantyperiodyourinstrument
shouldbecomeinoperativefromsuchdefects,theunitwillbe
repairedorreplacedatUEi’soption.Thiswarrantycoversnormal
useanddoesnotcoverdamagewhichoccursinshipmentor
failurewhichresultsfromalteration,tampering,accident,misuse,
abuse, neglect or improper maintenance. Batteries and
consequential damage resulting from failed batteries are not
coveredbywarranty.
Anyimpliedwarranties,includingbutnotlimitedto
impliedwarrantiesofmerchantabilityandfitnessfora
particularpurpose,arelimitedtotheexpresswarranty.UEi
shall not be liable for loss of use of the instrument or other
incidental or consequential damages, expenses, or economic
loss, or for any claim or claims for such damage, expenses
or economic loss. A purchase receipt or other proof of original
purchasedatewillberequiredbeforewarrantyrepairswillbe
rendered.Instrumentsoutofwarrantywillberepaired(when

Battery Test and Replacement
Replacethebatterieswhentouchingtheleads
together no longer turns on the continuity LED.
To replace batteries remove plug at the bottom of
theECT600Pwithastandardscrewdriverorcoin.
Remove spent
batteries and
insert2AAA
batterieswith
correct
polarity.

Note: The LED indication is referring to the phase
sequence from the red test lead to the black test lead
when touching the metal contact on the rear of the
ECT600P.
