4. Using the scanner
4.1 Turn on/off the scanner
Press and hold the [POWER] button for about 2 seconds to power on/off the scanner.
Note: The scanner will power off automatically if no scanning action is detected
within 3 minutes.
4.2 Installing the battery
1. Open the battery door.
2. Insert 4x AA alkaline batteries into the battery compartment.
3. Close the battery door.
4. Press and hold the [POWER] for about 2 seconds to power on the scanner.
4.3 Inserting a microSD memory card (not included)
NOTE: You must insert a MicroSD Card (not supplied) to save and store your
scans. Inserting the MicroSD memory card:
1. Turn off the scanner.
2. Insert the microSD card into the microSD card slot (with metal pins facing up).
Gently press in until card is latched and locked in place. The SD card
indicator
must appear on the LCD screen.
4.4 Time and date setting
1. Press and hold the [TIME SET/FORMAT] button for about 3 seconds to enter
time setting mode.
The LCD status display screen will show “1 ##” (step 1) for
the year. “##” is a set of numbers that would be changed to correspond to the
actual time/date setting. The number 1-5 in front of “##” indicates each step in
the setting.
2. Press the [JPG/PDF] or [DPI] button to select the current Year.
3. Press the Enter button [
] once to confirm setting.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to continue the Time and Date setting process.

5. After setting the Minute, “5 ##” in step 5, press the [TIME SET/FORMAT]
button again to complete the Time and Date setting.
4.5 Formatting the microSD/microSDHC memory card
NOTE: All contents on the microSD/microSDHC card will be erased during formatting.
1. Insert a microSD/microSDHC card into the scanner with metal side facing up.
2. Press and hold the [POWER] button for about 2 seconds to power the
scanner.
3. Press [TIME SET/FORMAT] button once. “F” will display on the LCD screen.
4. Press the Enter button [
] once to format the microSD/microSDHC card.
5. The SD card indicator will flash until format process is complete.
4.6 Setting the resolution
Press the [DPI] button to select High/ Medium/ Low resolution.
High/ Medium/ Low resolution icon will be displayed on status LCD.
4.7 Setting the scan mode
Press the [COLOR/MONO] button to select Color/Mono mode.
Color/Mono icon will be displayed on status LCD.
4.8. Setting the scan format
Press the [JPEG/PDF] button to select JPG/PDF format.
JPG/PDF icon will be displayed on status LCD.
4.9 How to scan
1. Press and hold the [POWER] button for about 2 seconds to power the
scanner. SD card indicator
must appear on the display.
2. The scanner is now in standby mode, set COLOR/MONO, JPG/PDF or DPI if
necessary
3. Align and insert the document face down into the scanner.
4. The scanner will start scanning automatically once it detects the document.
Green LED on the [POWER] button will be lit during the scanning process.
5. The scanner will stop scanning once it finishes the scan and will return to
standby mode for another scan.
NOTE: Before scanning, please smooth the edges of the document and gently
push it into the scanning slot.
5. Maintenance & cleaning the sensor
NOTE: For keeping best image quality, the scanner needs to be cleaned before or
after use. Cleaning card included.
CLEANING CARD
1. Press and hold [POWER] for about 2 seconds to power the scanner.
2. The SD card indicator
must appear on the LCD screen. If not, insert
microSD card to microSD card slot.
3. Insert the cleaning card with the rough side facing down. The scan will start
automatically until cleaning card is stuck.
4. During the cleaning process, pull the card out and reinsert the card again.
NOTE: You can repeat the process and keep the scanner running for about 6
seconds to achieve sound cleaning function.
6. Connecting to computer
1. Press and hold [POWER] for about 2 seconds to power on the scanner.
2. Connect your scanner to your computer via USB to enter into USB mode.
“USB” symbol will display on status LCD.
3. Your computer will recognize the scanner as a “Removable Disk”. Click
“Open folder to view files” to view, copy, move or delete scanned files.
4. To exit from USB mode, disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
NOTE:
If the Removable Disk window does not launch automatically, go to your
“Computer” and find the device under Devices with Removable Storage.
