This product complies with the applicable national and European requirements.
Intended use
The active DI box is used to adapt high-ohm audio outputs to low-ohm inputs of audio devices.
The inputs and outputs may only be connected to the connections of audio devices.
This product may only be supplied with power from a battery or the phantom power of an audio
device. The correct battery type is speci ed in the “Technical Data” section.
The product may only be used in enclosed indoor locations, never outdoors. Contact with
moisture, for example in bathrooms, must be avoided.
Any use, other than that described above, may lead to damage to this product and involves
other risks, such as short circuit, re and electric shock.
No part of the product may be modi ed or rebuilt.
The safety instructions have to be followed without fail.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions. We do not assume any liability for any
resulting damage.
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such
cases, the warranty will be null and void.
In the operating manual, an exclamation mark inside a triangle indicates
important operating instructions.
For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modi cation to the product is not
permitted.
Keep electrical devices out of the reach of children. For this reason, be particularly careful
when using the device in the presence of children. They may try to stick objects into the
device through openings in the housing.
Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or spraying water, strong vibrations
or heavy mechanical stress.
Do not use the device in a tropical climate.
Never place vessels or containers containing liquids, such as buckets, vases or plants, on
top of the product or in its vicinity. Liquids could enter the inside of the housing. If this should
happen, the product must not be operated any longer. Take it to a specialist workshop.
Do not place open sources of re such as burning candles on the appliance.
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous play-
thing for children.
If you have doubts about how the equipment should be operated or how to connect it safely,
consult a trained technician.
In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s Liability
Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to be observed.
If in doubt about how to connect the product correctly, or should any questions arise that are
not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our technical service or another
specialist.
Features
Active 2-channel DI box
High-quality electronics with wide and linear frequency response
Converts high-ohm, balanced and unbalanced device outputs to balanced, low-ohm outputs
for connecting e.g. devices directly to a mixer input
Due to low-ohm output impedance and balanced design, lower susceptibility of the audio
transmission to interference and the option of transporting the audio signal without inter-
ference and loss over long distances
Ground-lift switch with complete ground breaker between audio input and audio output to
prevent ground loops
Input sensitivity selectable
Power supply via battery or phantom power
Solid and stable metal housing
Connection and Control Elements
This DI box has 2 independent channels. Therefore, the connections and controls are dupli-
cated and each of them act on the associated channel (channel 1 and channel 2).
This manual does not describe every channel separately because the functions of both
channels are the same.
(1) GND switch (5) Battery compartment
(2) ATTENUATOR switch (6) POWER switch
(3) INPUT socket (7) OUTPUT socket
(4) THRU socket
Inserting/Replacing the Battery
The DI box can be powered by a battery or phantom power.
If an audio device with phantom power supply is connected to one of the two outputs OUTPUT
(7), the device can also be operated without a battery.
Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
Keep them out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around.
There is a risk that the batteries may be swallowed by children or pets. If they
are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the battery.
Remove the battery when the device will not be used for a while.
Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into contact with
the skin. You should therefore wear suitable protective gloves.
The batteries must not be short-circuited or thrown into the re. Do not
attempt to recharge the batteries. There is a risk of explosion. Charge
rechargeable batteries intended for that use only. Use an appropriate battery
charger.
In the case of battery operation, turn the device off always after use using the
POWER switch (6) to avoid unnecessary battery discharge.
Open the battery compartment (5) by opening the the screw joint.
Plug a 9V block battery to the battery contact. The battery can be plugged in only with the
correct polarity.
Place the batteries in the battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment (5) again by replacing the cover and screwing it again.
If the playback sound is distorted, or the device no longer works, the batteries are at and
have to be replaced as described above.
Set-up
Select a level, at and stable installation location.
Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using an appropriate underlay; otherwise, it may cause
scratches.
Connection
Always use suitably shielded audio cables to connect inputs and outputs. Use
of other cables may lead to interference.
To avoid distortions or mismatchings that could damage the unit, the inputs
and outputs must only be connected to devices with the suitable TRS or XLR
terminals.
Connect the output from your audio source (e.g. electric guitar) to the INPUT (3). Here,
balanced or unbalanced signals can be connected with TRS or XLR terminal.
If you want to connect to the original signal of your audio source to another device, connect
the input of this device to the THRU terminal (4). The THRU terminal (4) is connected in
parallel with the INPUT (3).
Connect OUTPUT (7) to the input of the subsequent audio device (e.g. mixer).

Operation
Should the device be operated on phantom power of another device that is connected to one
of the two outputs OUTPUT (7), the POWER (6) switch need not be pressed. Even if a battery
is installed, the power supply is primarily via the phantom power.
Should the device be operated on battery, press the POWER (6) switch to turn it on.
The POWER (6) switch is colour-coded and lights up with different brightness, depending on
the type of power supply:
green / red dark > power supply via battery
green / red light > power supply via phantom power on both outputs
green light > power supply via phantom power of OUTPUT 1
red light > power supply via phantom power of OUTPUT 2
Adjust the input sensitivity of the DI box to the output level of your source device using the
ATTENUATOR (2) switch:
Switch not pressed > 0 dB (no attenuation of the signal)
Button pressed > -30 dB (attenuation of the signal)
Should faults due to ground loops occur during the audio transmission, press the GND (1)
switch. In the GND position, the signal ground is connected to the ground of the output signal,
whereas in the LIFT position, the signal ground is separated from the ground of the output
signal.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning.
Do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as they can discolour the surface nish of the casing.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in
the household waste!
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory
regulations.
Remove the battery if there is one inserted and dispose of it separately from the
product.
Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used
batteries/rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is pro-
hibited.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with
the symbol shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden.
The symbols of the relevant heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb =
Lead. You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge to
the of cial collection points in your municipality, in our stores, or anywhere where
batteries or rechargeable batteries are sold.
You thereby ful l your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
