When setting the pulse duration in degrees, what you set is what you
get. Refer to the image on the right for the dierence between a 1°
and 5° (of rotation) flash duration.
There are two methods of adjusng the ash pulse width and hence
the brightness and consequently the blur. For seng Brightness
see section 5.3.
6.2 Brightness in Degrees of Rotaon
Brightness can be set from 0.2 to 14 degrees out of 360. The higher
the seng the brighter the strobe appears to be but the more
blurred the target is. Opmal seng to stop moon is 1.8 to 3.6°.
The number of degrees is a proporonal amount and remains
constant as the ash rate increases or decreases. The strobe auto-
macally calculates how wide the pulse width should be at dierent
ash rates to keep the blur constant—the faster the ash rate the
narrower the pulse width. The pulse width equals: (seng in
degrees/360) x (1/ashrate in Hz).
6.3 Brightness in Pulse Duraon
Brightness can also be set to a xed duraon pulse in milliseconds.
The ash rate remains constant irrespecve of the ash rate, thus as
the flash rate increases, the image will get brighter and more blurred.
Note: There are two limits maintained by the strobe – the ash
pulse width can never be greater than 2.0 msec (milliseconds) nor
can it exceed 14° of rotaon.
The strobe automacally adjusts the pulse width and rotaon values as
the ash rate is increased or decreased to maintain the limits at all
mes. For example—a ash rate of 600 ashes per minute (10 Hz), 14°
of rotaon represents a ash pulse width of 3.8 msec. The strobe will
limit this value to 2.0 msec or 7.3° of rotaon (blur).

7. BATTERY PACK
When ordered as such, the Nova-Pro 100 comes with one
rechargeable Lithium Ion baery pack, external charger
and power supply. The Baery Pack is shipped in a mostly
discharged state and has tape over the terminals.
REMOVE TAPE BEFORE USE.
CHARGE BATTERY PRIOR TO USE.
CAUTION:
• Do not store baery in hot locaons
• Do not expose to re.
• Do not disassemble.
• Do not apply mechanical force.
REMOVE Baery Pack from unit before storing for long periods.
DO NOT DISPOSE of the Lithium-Ion baeries as unsorted municipal
waste. The baeries need to be RECYCLED in accordance with local
regulaons. The baeries should be sent to a recycling center or
returned to the factory using appropriate shipping methods.
The Nova-Pro Baery Pack is specically keyed to t in the Nova-Pro and
Charger Base one way only. Insert the Baery Pack into the Nova-Pro
unl the clips lock into place. To remove, squeeze clips on the Baery
Pack to release from the Nova-Pro. The Baery Pack can also be screwed
into the Nova-Pro using the aached capve screw.
7.1 Low Baery Funconality
Low baery icon will blink when baery pack needs to be
recharged. The unit may sll be used for a short me.
The Nova-Pro will display “LOBAT” and shut down when the baery
pack is exhausted and must be recharged.
