The Robertshaw® 41-400 Series Hot Surface lgnitors deliver
dependable ignion in heang systems of every descripon.
from furnaces and boilers to roof top heaters, infrared burners,
unit heaters, water heaters, and many other types of HVAC
equipment.
The 41-411 is specically designed to replace Rheem part
number 62-22868-82, and 62-22441-01.
The 41-400 Series Hot Surface lgnitors are made of high-pu-
rity recrystallized silicon carbide (Crystar™ )which combines
physical and thermal strength with stable electrical properes.
The 41-400 Series are designed to reach ignion temperature(s)
within 17 seconds. They have 18-gauge nickel chrome lead
wires embedded and metalized in place for maximum holding
strength and electrical conducvity. The lead wires are also
enclosed with a special high-temperature ber glass insulaon
providing total electrical protecon.
CAUTION: THIS DEVICE SHOULD BE INSTALLED BY A
QUALIFIED TECH NICIAN WITH DUE REGARD FOR
SAFETY AS IMPROPER IN STALLATION COULD RESULT IN
A HAZARDOUS CONDITION.
Hot surface ignitors get hot! up to 2500°F.
Therefore wait several minutes allowing the
ignitor to cool down, before aempng any
service work. Failure to do so will cause severe
personal injury.
Turn o all gas and electrical power to the
equipment being serviced. Failure to do so can
cause severe injury, death or property damage.
1. Locate model number of the furnace rang plate then nd it
in the chart below.
2. Refer to gure 1 and then 2 or 3 as directed on back page,
when installing new ignitor.
3. Remove old ignitor from furnace. Save all mounng
hardware.
4. To install new ignitor bracket refer to gure 2 or 3 on back
page.
5. Installaon is now complete, put system back in service and
let it run through two or three start-ups to verify proper
operaon.
