*La date de la première utilisation doit être prouvée sur
le plan administratif. Lorsque la date de la première
utilisation n’est pas connue, la date précédente prouvable
(sur le plan administratif) doit être utilisée, par ex. : date
d’achat ou date de fabrication.
1. Utilisateur : une personne compétente et formée
à l’utilisation et au fonctionnement sécurisés de la
LAR de Latchways, y compris aux vérications avant
l’utilisation.
2. Personne compétente : une personne, autre que
l’Utilisateur, qui est compétente dans l’examen des
LAR, en accord avec les présentes instructions de
Latchways.
3. Technicien : une personne, autre que l’Utilisateur, qui
est formée par Latchways pour examiner, réparer et
certier à nouveau des LAR Latchways, en accord
avec les instructions de Latchways.

Records
Allreplacementcomponentserialnumbersand
examination/recertificationdatesshallberecordedin
the‘Examinationlog’.Thedateofnextexaminationlabel
shallbeupdatedandattachedtotheLatchwaysSealed
SRL.
Safety equipment
Allproceduresshallbecompletedinconjunctionwithlo-
calsafetyrules.Protective eye wearshallbewornatall
timesandglovesshallbewornwhenhandlingwebbing.
Cleaning, maintenance and
storage
Ifrequired,theLatchwaysSealedSRLexterior
andlifelinemaybecleanedusingadampclothand
warmwater(max40°C),andallowedtodrynaturally
beforeuse.Excessivebuild-upofdirt,paintetc.can
compromisebothretractionandstrengthofthelifeline.
StoreortransporttheLatchwaysSealedSRLina
cool,dry,cleanenvironment,awayfromdust,oiland
directsunlight.Duringtransportation,thedeviceshall
beprotectedtopreventdamageorcontamination.
ExaminetheLatchwaysSealedSRLafterlongperiods
ofstoragepriortoreturningittoservice.

Periodicexaminationsshallbecompletedbyaperson,
otherthantheUser,competent

SRLs,inaccordancewiththeseinstructions.Latchways
RetrievalSRLshallonlybeexaminedbyLatchways
trained Technicians

theusage(Table 1),localregulationsorenvironmental
conditionsandwillbeatleastannuallystartingfromthe
dateofrstuse*.

determinewhichrepairsshouldbeundertaken.Repairs
shallbecompletedbyaLatchwaystrainedTechnician

inaccordancewiththeseinstructions.
Ifanissueisidentified,theLatchwaysSealedSRL
hasbeensubjecttoafalloranydoubtexistsastothe
suitabilityoftheLatchwaysSealedSRLitshallbe
tagged“unusable”andwithdrawnfromservice.Priorto
returntoserviceaLatchwaystrainedTechnician

shall
confirm,inwriting,thattheLatchwaysSealedSRL
haspassedexamination.LatchwaysSealedSRLsthat
havearrestedafallorareunabletopassaninspection
shallbetagged“unusable”andpassedtoaTechnician
forrepairordisposal.
*Date ofrst use shall be administratively provable. Where
the date of rst use is unknown, then the next previous
administratively provable date shall be used, e.g. date of
purchase or date of manufacture.
1. User: A person that has been trained and is competent
in the safe use and operation of the Latchways SRL,
including the pre-use checks.
2. Competent person: A person, other than the User,
who is competent in the examination of SRLs, in
accordance with Latchways’ instructions.
3. Technician: A person, other than the User, who is
trained by Latchways to examine, repair and recertify
Latchways SRLs, in accordance with Latchways’
instructions.
