Th e cleaner is for dom estic use only
and h as been designed to ensure m a-
xim um safety and perform ance.
Please follow th ese sim ple precautions:
Th e cleaner is double- insulated so it
m ust not be earth ed.
Th e cleaner is only to be used by
adults. Young ch ildren or infirm per-
sons sh ould be supervised to ensure
th at th ey do not play w ith th e appli-
ance.
Alw ays store in a dry place.
Do not use to pick up liq uids.
Avoid sh arp objects.
Do not pick up h ot cinder or ligh ted
cigarette ends.
Do not vacuum up very fine dust
from plaster, cem ent, cold cinders,
flour or ash .
Do not use near flam m able gases.
Th ese m aterials can cause serious da-
m age to th e m otor - a dam age
w h ich is not covered by th e w arranty.
Avoid tugging on th e m ains cable and
ch eck cable regularly for dam age.
W ARNING: Do not pull th e appliance
by th e cord. Do not unplug by pul-
ling on th e cord. Do not use th e
cleaner w ith a dam aged cable. If th e
cable dam aged, it sh ould be replaced
at a service center. Th is is not cove-
red by th e w arranty.
Th e plug m ust be rem oved from th e
sock et- outlet before cleaning or m a-
intaining th e appliance.
All service and repairs m ust be car-
ried out by auth orised AEG- Electro-
lux service staff.

Ch eck th e dust container is in place.

Insert th e h ose until th e catch es
click to engage. (Press catch es in-
w ards to release).
A
Attach th e tube to th e h ose h andle
and floor nozzle by push ing and tw is-
ting togeth er. (Tw ist and pull apart
to dism antle).
A
Extend th e cable and connect to m a-
ins. Th e cleaner is fitted w ith cable
rew ind, ensure cable is not tw isted
before use. (Press foot pedal to re-
w ind. Note: Please h old th e plug to
prevent it strik ing you or th e m a-
ch ine).
A
Press th e On/Off button to activate
th e cleaner.
A
By m oving th e linear suction control,
th e suction pow er can be adjusted.
Suction can also be regulated on th e
h ose h andle by opening/closing th e
aperture.

Carpets: Use th e floor nozzle w ith
th e lever in h orizontal position.
H ard floors: Use th e floor nozzle
w ith th e lever in vertical position.
Loose rugs / curtains / ligh tw eigh t
fabrics: Reduce th e suction pow er.
Use th e floor nozzle for loose rugs
and th e uph olstery nozzle for curta-
ins, cush ions etc.
Confined areas: Use th e crevice nozz-
le for crevices, corners and radiators.
H ard floor / parq uetry: use th e h ard
floor nozzle to avoid scratch ing *.
Lam ps, pictures and book sh elves:
Use th e dusting brush .
For th e perfect care of your car-
pets: use th e turbo nozzle. Th e rota-
ry m otion of its brush gently loosens
sh ort- pile carpets w h ere th e dirt h as
been trodden in. It rem oves stubborn
fluff and pet h airs. *
Dustbag indicator and ch ang-
ing th e dustbag (see page 8)
For peak perform ance th e dustbag
m ust be ch anged w h en full. If th e dust-
bag sh ould accidentally get brok en in
th e cleaner, tak e th e cleaner to an
AEG- Electrolux Service Centre for clea-
ning. Ch eck th e dustbag regularly and
replace w h en necessary. Th e dustbag in-
dicator w indow w ill gradually turn red
w h en filling and com pletely red w h en
full. To ch eck th e dustbag, th e cleaner
m ust be sw itch ed on, w ith all attach -
m ents connected and off th e floor.
Th e dustbag full indicator m ay signify
th at th e bag is block ed (occasionally
caused by very fine dust) w h ich w ill ca-
use loss of suction and m ay result in
overh eating. If th is occurs ch ange th e
dustbag even if it is not full.
To ch ange th e dustbag
A
Release catch and sw ing back lid befo-
re rem oving th e dustbag.
A
Rem ove th e dustbag.
A
Insert new dustbag by fitting th e bag
slots over h olders.
A
Adjust th e bottom corners of th e dust-
bag into th e dustbag com partm ent.
A
Adjust th e upper part of th e dustbag
into th e dustbag com partm ent.
A
Close th e dustbag com partm ent and
continue cleaning.
W e recom m end th e dustbag is ch anged
after using a carpet cleaning pow der
if th ere is a bad sm ell from th e cleaner,
th en you sh ould also ch ange th e filter
Note: Use only AEG- Electrolux origi-
nal dustbags and filters (ref GR28) or
M enalux 1000 filters.
Dustbag safety device:
To avoid dam aging th e cleaner do
not use it w ith out a dustbag. A sa-
fety device is fitted w h ich prevents
th e cover closing w ith out a dustbag.
Do not attem pt to force cover sh ut.

Th ere are tw o filters inside your
cleaner. Never use th e cleaner w it-
h out th e filters in place.
To clean M otor Protection filter
Th e M otor Protection filter sh ould be
cleaned w h en dirty.

Release catch , rem ove th e lid and
th e filter.

W ash th e filter in w arm w ater.
A
Allow to dry and re- insert th e clear
filter. Close th e lid.
To ch ange m icro filter *

Release catch , open th e filter cover.
A
Tak e th e filter out of th e cleaner.
A
Insert new filter and close th e cover.
To ch ange H EPA filter *
A
Release catch , open th e filter cover.
A

Troublesh ooting
Pow er: If th e electric pow er does not
com e on, disconnect from m ains and
ch eck plugs, cable and fuses w h ere
appropriate.
Block ages/dirty filters: Th e cleaner
m ay sw itch itself off in th e event of
a severe block age or excessively dirty
filter(s). In such cases, disconnect
from m ains and allow to cool for 20-
30 m inutes.Clear block age and/or rep-
lace filter(s) and restart.
Th e clearing of block ed h oses is not
covered by th e guarantee.

W ater: If w ater is suck ed into th e
cleaner th e m otor m ust be ch anged
at an AEG- Electrolux Service Centre.
