1. Safety
Flammable materials:
Keep flammable m aterials away from the installation (such as curtains). A lot of energy is transferred into heat. The installation
should be such that the amount of air flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not compromised. Proper ventilation must
be provided.
Risk of electric sho ck / Risk of fire:
To protect against risk of fire caused by overloading of power c ables:
• MAXIMUM 5 tiles may be connected in parallel in case of 110-180 VAC, 50-60Hz. Each power so urce cable s upplying ma ximum
5 tiles shou ld be protected by a circuit breaker or fuses rated 16 A / 250 VA C (15 A / 250 VAC in the US A and Canada).
• MAXIMUM 10 tiles m ay be connected in parallel in case of 180- 240 VAC, 50-60Hz. Each power source cable supplying max i-
mum 10 tiles should be pr otected by a circuit breaker or fuses rated 16 A / 250 VA C (15 A / 2 50 VA C in the USA and Canada).
Note that one V6i tile requires 100-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz.
Disconnect d evice:
When the appliance inlets o f the individual tiles are not a ccessible, the socket outlets s upplying the r ack shall be installed near the
equipment and be easily accessible, or a readily a ccessible gen eral dis connect device shall be incorporated in the fixed wiring.
This equipm ent MUST be earthed:
In order to protect against risk of electric shoc k, the installation should be p roperly grounded. Defeating the purpose of the grounding
type plug will expose you to the risk of electric shock.
Power sys tem:
It is recommended to use a TN-S power distribution system (a power distribution system with a separate neutral and grounding
conductor) in order to avoid large ground current loops du e to voltage differences in the neutral conductor. The total electrical
installation should be protected by an appropriately rated disconnect switch, circuit breakers, over voltage pr otector and G round Fault
Current Interrupters. The installation shall be done according to the local electrical installation codes. In Europe special attention
should be given to HD 60364, H armon ization Docum ent for electrical installation of buildings. In Germ any VDE 0100 should be
adhered to. In America, special attention should be given to the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.
Mains cords:
The pow er cords delivered with this system have special properties for sa
fety. They ar e not user serviceable. If th e po w er cords are
damaged, replace them only with new ones. Nev er try to repair a power cord.
Data cables:
The data cables provided with this system have special properties for safety. They are not user serviceable. If the data cables are
damaged, replace them only with new ones . Never try to repair a data cable. Pe r requirements of the National Electrical Co de®
in the US A , the length o f a data cable must not exceed 42 m (140 feet). Avoid exposure of data cables to accidental contact with
lightning or power conductors.
1.4 Proper usage
Proper usage of V6i tiles
• Shipping crates m ay be stacked to a max imum of 2 crates high.
• No part of the V6i tile can come in contact w ith an y type of abrasive.
• No part of the V6i tile can com e in contact with any type of c orrosive substance.
• V6i tiles ar e to be used in environme nts meeting the oper ating specific ations.
• V6i tiles ar e not to be exposed to extreme localized heat or cold exceeding the temperature specific ations.
• V6i tiles are not to be exposed to any element or situation that will cause any part of the display to heat beyond what occurs
during normal operation. Such s ituations include (but are not limited to) lasers, ultrasonic vibration, or any type of substance
that prevents proper ventilation and he at radiation of the V6i tiles.
• Power c onnected to the V 6i tiles m ust meet the s pecific ations outlined in the installation manual.
• Never place a V6i tile upo n a surface with the LEDs facing downwards. This to prev ent dam age to the LEDs and the shaders.
• No force can be applied to the LEDs. Any LEDs damaged due to mechanical stress are not covered by the warranty.
• Safety and functional features of the display cannot be defeated.
• Any failures must be imm ediately and appropriatel
y dea lt with. Failing equipm ent should not be left on a wall.
• Only Bar co cables s pecified to be used with the V6i display are to be used to connect com ponents in an V6i wall. Furthermore,
care must be taken to connect signals only according to the installation manua l.
• V6i tiles are not to be u sed in the vicinity of an y equipment that is not C E and UL/ETL ce rtified.
• V6i tiles are not to be connec ted to any non-Barco equipment.
• V6i tiles can be cleaned only in ac cordance to the proc edures defin ed in the installation manual.
• The V6i tile is equipped with two air filters. These filters must be replaced on a regular basis, depending on the environment
conditions of the tile. It is recommended to replace the filters every 6 mo nths o r a shorter period, depending on the local
environment.
