BEFORE YOU START
Before you use your Cross DVR you will do the following:
Plug your DVR into your PC
Charge it fully
Download time les from www.SafetyBasement.com
Set your timestamp on the DVR
CONNECT YOUR CROSS TO PC
Use the included USB cable.
Connect one end to the USB port in your pen.
Connect the other end to a USB port on your PC. Please do not use a hub.
In a few moments, your PC will connect to your pen. Your PC may install standard drivers
the rst time it connects. is is normal.
No additional drivers are required.
e status light will appear while connected to your PC.
Your Cross DVR is now charging. and also ready to download any les from it to your
computer
CONNECT YOUR CROSS DVR TO
When you connect your DVR, on many
Windows computers, a pop up window will
appear called AUTOPLAY. is is normal.
Just choose OPEN FOLDER as shown.
Your DVR will appear as an External or
Removable Drive with a drive letter, such as
E:. Your letter may vary.
You will see VIDEO, IMAGE folders. Your
recordings will be saved in these folders.
We will access them later in the manual.

step.

DOWNLOAD FILES
Go to the same section you downloaded this user manual
Right-click on the SETTINGTIMETOOL le, and choose SAVE LINK AS, or SAVE
TARGET AS...
Save the le to your DVR, as shown in this
example. In the same areas as the folders
Once you have saved this le there, double
click it, in its new location, and that should
sync the time with your computer time.
Unplug your device from your computer.
Your video les should have the correct
time stamp when you turn it now next.
NOTE: We always recommend that you
record a small time le and play back just to
make sure your time has been adjusted, just
incase you didnt do it correctly.
RECORDING VIDEO
Before turning unit ON, make sure the MODE switch is set to V (for
Video).
POWER ON & Start Recording Video - Press and release the power button. An
ORANGE light will come on then settle on a steady BLUE. You are now recording
video. To stop video recording just press and release the same button.e light will
change to a steady ORANGE, this is the standby light. Repeat as necessary.

TAKING PICTURE
Before turning unit ON, make sure the MODE switch is set to P (for
Picture).
POWER ON & Start Recording Video - Press and release the power button. A BLUE
steady light will come on. You are now in picture STANDBY MODE. Press and release
the power button. An ORANGE light should blink briey and go o, returning to steady
blue. You just took a picture. Repeat as necessary.
