L & S Series : How to Replace the Easy Pitch Nut and Bolt
Secure the inner, outer arms and valance to
the entire awning with ties or straps.
(Electric awnings: Please disconnect the power source)
Warning: The awning arms contain tensioned
cables. Always use caution, securely tie the
awning arms to the awning when performing
installation, adjustments or repairs. Sudden
movement of tension arms can result in seri-
ous personal injury, product and/or property
damage.

Secure the valance, tied
arms, and fabric roller tube
to torsion bar and wall
brackets with ties or straps.

Remove existing Easy Pitch security loop pin out by us-
ing an Allen wrench and mallet.

Once the pin is removed, pull down on the loop until
released.

Before You Begin/What You Will Need:
1. New Easy Pitch™ Nut and Bolt
(provided by Advaning)
2. 6 – 8 ft. Ladder/s
3. Zip Ties, Ropes, or Securing Straps
4. Allen Wrench, size 9/64 or smaller
5. Spacer Block or Sponge
6. Phillips Head Screw Driver
7. Mallet
8. Multi-Purpose Grease Lubricant (Optional)

Retract the awning back
to the fully closed position.
Secure the retractable arms
closed with ties or straps.
NOTE: For safety, Advaning highly recommends these instructions be conducted by 2 or more persons.

Use a screwdriver to remove the securing screw and washer on the side of the Easy Pitch mechanism.
Please keep the securing screw and washer to use with the new Easy Pitch nut and bolt set.

Remove the end cap screws and end cap (Luxury Series: 3 securing screws / Slim Series: 2 securing screws)
Please note: Before Proceeding, make sure you have a helper to hold the opposite side of the awning from dislodging
from the end cap, and supporting the weight as the awning’s roller tube is moved up.

Lift the fabric roller tube, and place a spacer to allow you to remove the bolt and replace with the new one
Please note: It is important to have a helper assist in supporting the roller tube/ fabric from shifting on the opposite
end from its end cap connection.

Pry the jump ring using pliers and remove the washer.
Tip: When removing the jump ring with a plier, use the indent to pry it off the bolt.
Please note: The photo used is for illustrative purposes, your conguration will be installed with arm attached.

Manually twist the Easy Pitch bolt counter-clockwise until released.
Remove the bolt carefully and ensure that the small loose ball bearings do not fall out during this process.
Replace the Nut & Bolt.
Simply reverse the steps in this instruction guide, starting with step
1)
working your way to

Please note: When putting the jump ring and washer back onto the Easy Pitch bolt, please ensure that the washer is
above the jump ring. Also, please ensure that the jump ring is in the groove of the bolt that is above the pin hole.
Tip: Coat the new Easy Pitch nut and bolt with a general Multi-Purpose Grease Lubricant before replacing to ensure
smooth operation of Easy Pitch mechanism.

Slide the Easy Pitch nut out.
Please note: When removing/replacing the bolt be careful not to move the ball bearings at the lip of the chamber:
