INTRODUCTION
To get the best out of your new appliance, please read
thisuserguidecarefullybeforeusingitfortherst
time. Take particular note of the safety precautions.
We also recommend that you keep the instructions for
future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the
functions of your appliance.
SAFETY MEASURES
General
Incorrect use of this appliance may cause personal
injury and damage to the appliance.
Use for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer
is not responsible for any injury or damage resulting
from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee
Terms).
For domestic use only. Not for outdoor or
commercial use.
For connection to 230 V, 50 Hz only.
The appliance, cord or plug must not be placed in
water or any other liquid. Make sure that no liquid
gets into the appliance.
Never touch the appliance, cord or plug with wet or
damp hands.
Keep the appliance under constant supervision
while in use. Keep an eye on children.
The appliance should be regularly emptied of
remnantsofwafemix,asthesecouldcauseare.
Use only accessories supplied with the appliance or
those recommended by the manufacturer.
Use
• Alwaysplacetheapplianceonadry,level,rmand
heat resistant surface well away from any edges.
Always place the appliance at a safe distance from
ammableobjectssuchascurtains,tableclothsor
similar.
The appliance must not be placed or stored near
other sources of heat.
Do not cover.
The inside and outside surfaces get very hot during
use. Do not touch the hot surfaces due to the
danger of burns. Only touch the handles.
Never use any metal utensil to remove the baked
wafesfromtheapplianceastheycouldscratchthe
non-stick coating.
Please note that the appliance will remain hot for a
while after you switch it off. Always allow it to cool
completely before you put it away or clean it.
Cord and plug
Do not let the cord hang out over the edge of the
work surface.
• Checkthatitisnotpossibletopullortripoverthe
cord or any extension cord.
Keep the cord and appliance away from heat
sources,hotobjectsandnakedames.
Turn off and unplug the appliance as soon as you
havenishedusingit,beforecleaningitorifthe
appliance is not in use. Avoid pulling the cord when
removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold the
plug.
Ensure that the cord is fully extended.
The cord must not be twisted or wound around the
appliance.
• Checkregularlythatneithercordnorplugis
damaged and do not use if they are, or if the
appliance has been dropped or damaged in any
other way.
If the appliance, cord or plug have been damaged,
have them inspected and if necessary repaired by
an authorised repair engineer. Never try to repair
the appliance yourself. Please contact the store
where you bought the appliance for repairs under
guarantee.Unauthorisedrepairsormodicationsto
the appliance will invalidate the guarantee.

PRIOR TO FIRST USE
Remove all packaging and transport materials from
the inside and outside of the appliance.
Wipe the inside and outside surfaces of the
appliance with a damp cloth and let appliance dry.
• Completelyunwindthecord.
USE
1. Plug in and switch on the power. The appliance
beeps once and immediately begins to heat up; the
powerindicator(b)onthedisplay(2)ashes.
2. Open the lid (1) and add a little grease to the hollow/
hollowsofthebasepart(4).Closethelidagain.
3. Once the appliance is ready for use the appliance
beeps a few times and the indicator for adding
wafemix(f)ashes.
4. Openthelidandpouraportionofwafemixinto
the hollow/hollows of the base part.
oBecarefulnottoaddtoomuchwafemix;the
mix must not spill over the edge of the hollow.
5. Closethelidagainandsetthecookingtimeusing
the control buttons (3). There are 8 settings, where 1
corresponds to 1 minute, and 8 corresponds to 4.5
minutes.
o Press the button + or – until the required number
of columns are shown on the power indicator.
Each time you press the button, the time
increases or decreases by 30 seconds.
oWhenthewafesarecooking,thesymbolfor
cookingwafes(e)ashestogetherwiththe
symbolforlightlycookedwafe(a)orthoroughly
cookedwafe(c)dependingonthechosen
setting(1-4forlightlycookedwafeand5-8for
thoroughlycookedwafe).
o The appliance remembers the setting so you can
cookseveralwafeswiththesamecookingtime.
o If you do not set the time, the appliance will use
the default setting of 5 columns. This
corresponds to 3 minutes and the result is a
goldenwafe.
6. Oncethewafesarecooked,theappliancebeeps
severaltimesandthesymbolforcookedwafe(d)
ashes.Openthelidandremovethecookedwafes
with a wooden or plastic spatula. Never use metal
utensils as they may scratch the non-stick coating
of the appliance.
7. Remove the plug from the socket once you have
nishedusingtheappliance.
Caution!Youmayexperienceasmallamountofsmoke
orodourtherstfewtimestheapplianceisused.
This is due to excess material from the manufacturing
process being burnt off. This is completely normal, and
the smoke/smell will soon disappear.
Caution!Theappliancehasanauto-stopfunction
automatically turning off the appliance if it has been
switched on for more than 30 minutes after heating up
orcompletingcookingofthelastwafewithoutbeing
used. In order to use the appliance again, unplug the
appliance and plug it in again to reset it.
STORAGE
Ensure that the appliance is clean, dry and
completely cool before storing it.
Store the appliance in a clean and dry place, for
instance in its box.
Do not place heavy objects on top of the appliance.
The cord must not be twisted or wound around the
appliance.
Never hang the appliance by the cord.
CLEANING
Remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the
appliance to cool down before cleaning.
The appliance, cord or plug must not be placed in
water or any other liquid.
• Cleantheappliancebywipingitwithadampcloth.
A little detergent can be added if the appliance is
heavily soiled.
Never use a scouring pad or any form of strong
solvent or abrasive cleaning agent to clean the
appliance, as those may damage the inside and
outside surfaces of the appliance.
Ensure that the appliance is completely dry before
storing it.
