Description
1 Description:
1.1 CamConnect Pro with multiple Yamaha ceiling microphones
(Just use the floor plan as an example, Room size 12M x 8M)
1.2 A. RM-CG A is detecting (within 4m x 4m)
1, 2, 3, 4 & 13, 14, 15, 16
1.3 B. RM-CG B is detecting (within 4m x 4m)
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
1.4 When 4, or 13 are speaking, both RM-CG A & B will
receive signals, and both will send the parameter to
CamConnect Pro to call preset
1.5 CamConnect Pro will be confused keep calling
presets cameras will keep switching from 4, and 13
2 Solution
2.1 Go to Yamaha webpage to set the range of exclusion area:
2.2 RM-CG A is responsible for detecting
1, 2, 3, & 14, 15, 16
2.2.1 Set the range of exclusion area as the gray for Ceiling Mic A
2.3 RM-CG B is responsible for detecting
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
2.4 Press “Submit” to save current exclusion area setting.(Page 16)
2.5 Reconnect Yamaha RM-CG on CamConnect Pro to update the parameter.
3 Analysis & improvement
3.1 Yamaha exclusion area is existed on default setting. After setting up exclusion
area, the sound emitted within those area is still being received.
3.2 In FW 1.4.5, the design of CamConnect Pro allows it to receive sound from the
entire area, and it caused that when sound occurs between two microphones
and triggers the operation of both simultaneously, this will result in continuous
switching of CamConnect Pro presets.
3.3 In FW v1.5.6, Lumens improved this issue to make sure the sound from
exclusion area will not be received, and it results that after one of camera set
the exclusion area, so CamConnect Pro preset will works correctly
3.4 Customize "Tracking Area" & "Exclusion Area" for more accurate audio pick-up
4 Installation
4.1 Upgrade the CamConnect Pro Firmware
4.1.1 In Camconnect Pro web GUI, Go [About] and press [check] for getting the
newest FW
4.2 Start RM-CG setup
4.2.1 Using [RMDeviceFinder] find RM-CG IP address
4.2.2 https://info.uc.yamaha.com/rm-device-finder
4.2.3 Enter the IP address of RM-CG
4.2.4 Login by entering password, (when first time using RM-CG, in login page
will ask user to setup password)
4.2.5 Select Audio -> Processing
4.2.6 Set ceiling-to-floor height (in units of 0.1m)
4.2.7 Set source-to-floor height (in units of 0.1m)
4.2.8 Set the Tracking area and exclusion area by dragging within the 8x8m
space
4.2.9 Please note: Each grid in the image represents 1m. Drag the blocks to the
desired restricted position, or click on [Detail] to fine-tune by adjusting the
X/Y-axis coordinates
4.2.10 Click on [Detail] to fine-tune the position
4.2.11 Enter the region coordinates through the [Detail] input
4.2.12 Begin the configuration based on the environment of the two
microphones
4.2.13 Enable tracking area
4.2.14 Add exclusion area for microphone [A], and make the size depend on your
room design and expectation
4.2.15 Place microphone [A] in the exclusion area below the tracking area,
aligning it with the actual room position between microphones [A] and [B].
4.2.16 This configuration helps preventing microphone [A] from picking up
sounds at positions 4 and 13 in the recording area.
4.2.17 Based on the experimental results, it is necessary to configure the tracking
area according to the following steps to ensure the optimal performance of
the set exclusion area
4.2.18 Once the exclusion area has set, press [SUBMIT] for saving the result.
4.2.19 Before left this page remove the check mark of exclusion area, and save it
by press [SUBMIT] again.
4.2.20 After Yamaha RM-CG setting, back to CamConnect Pro and disconnect and
connect again
4.2.21 In case if the Azimuth Angle is not matching RM-CG tracking area, repeat
the steps from 4.2.16 to 4.2.21.
5 Note:
5.1 CamConnect Pro[ Advanced] [Audio Trigger Level > dB
5.1.1 The volume determines the trigger sensitivity (range: 0-126). It is
recommended to set it at 100 or over
5.1.2 If encountering environmental echo, consider adjusting the trigger level
higher.
5.2 CamConnect Pro_Azimuth Angle position
5.2.1 "Azimuth Angle" refers to the horizontal angle measured clockwise from
the north direction, typically expressed in degrees
5.3 In case only one Yamaha RM-CG in meeting room
5.3.1 Yamaha exclusion area is existed in default setting
5.3.2 Check exclusion area A and B
5.3.3 Reduce the exclusion area and put it in corner of the room.
5.3.4 Check tracking area and press [SUBMIT]
5.3.5 After tracking area and exclusion area has set, press [SUBMIT] for saving
the result. Before left this page remove the check mark of exclusion area,
and save it by press [SUBMIT] again
5.3.6 Based on the experimental results, it is necessary to configure the tracking
area according to the following steps to ensure the optimal performance of
the set exclusion area
