ECA 9010 is an override module for all
EPU controllers and for ECL controllers
with generation code 15 or higher (see
first two digits of six-digit number on the
adhesive label at the back of the
controller).
Mounting (see page 1)
ECA 9010 is mounted below the terminal
strip in the large case
(best. no. 087B3059)
Function (fig. 1)
ECA 9010 ensures that the external
contact signal is adapted to suit the ECL
or EPU controller.
The function selector on the ECL or EPU
controller must be set in position . The
external contact must have a make
function (NO type).
Electrical connection and selection of
override input on ECL controller (fig. 2)
Connect green lead from ECA 9010 to a
vacant terminal:
Use the room sensor input (terminal 5) if
no room sensor has already been
connected to the ECL controller.
Use the return sensor input (terminal 6,
not applicable to ECL 9750) if no return
sensor has already been connected to
the ECL controller.
Use the hot water service sensor input
(terminal 7, but terminal 8 on ECL 9600
and ECL 9604) if no hot water service
sensor has already been connected to
the ECL controller.
Note:
If the above inputs have already been
connected to a sensor, override can be
connected in parallel. In such a case, the
input function concerned becomes
inoperative and override is to only.
Override to normal temperature (fig. 3)
or reduced temperature (fig. 4)
If an external contact is connected to
ECA 9010, terminals 2 and 3 (see fig. 3),
the ECL or EPU controller will be
overridden to (normal temperature).
If terminals 1 and 3 are used instead (see
fig. 4) the ECL or EPU controller will be
overridden to (reduced temperature).
Electrical connection and selection of
override input on EPU controller
(fig. 5)
Only the override input shown is
accessible.
On ECL and EPU controllers, ECA 9010
overrides and signals from control
panel ECA 9020.
On ECL controllers,
has the highest
priority when override via ECA 9010 and
ESMF is used concurrently.
ECA 9010 overrides the summer cut-out
function in ECL controllers.
The boost function in ECL controllers
without
display is activated for one hour
after override to , provided »Boost«
has been selected with miniswitch 3.
The boost function in ECL controllers
with
display cannot be activated during
override with ECA 9010.
Electrical connection, general
The max. permissible cable length
between the override contact and
ECA 9010 is 100 m.
