Magic Lighting Remote

• When connecting an HDMI or USB cable, or
connecting a USB flash drive to the HDMI
or USB port, use a product that has a width
of 18mm or less and a height of 10mm or
less. If the USB cable or USB flash drive does
not fit the USB ports of the projector, use an
extension cable that supports USB 2.0.

• Use a certified cable with the HDMI logo attached.
• If you do not use a certified HDMI cable, the screen may not display or a

Using the Joystick Button
You can operate the projector by pressing the button or moving the joystick left, right,
up, or down.
Basic functions
Power On
When the projector is turned off, place your
nger on the joystick button, press it once, and
release it.
Power Off
(Press and
Hold)
Press and hold the joystick button for more than
3 seconds while the projector is on.
Volume
Control
Place your nger over the joystick button and
move it up or down, you can adjust the volume
level.
Up/Down/
Left/Right
If you move the joystick up, down, left, or right,
you can move the cursor to select the menu
items.
NOTE
• When moving the joystick button up, down, left or right, be careful not to move
the button while it is being pressed. The volume may not be adjusted and the
cursor may not move when the joystick button is pressed and moved.

Adjusting the menu
When the projector is turned on, press the joystick button one time.
You can adjust the menu items moving the joystick button left, right, up, or down. Move
to the desired menu item, and then press the joystick button once to select it.
Turns the power off.
Changes the input source.
Clears on-screen displays and returns to projector viewing.
Displays the Settings menu.

INSTALLATION
Projection Distance per Screen Size
1 Place the projector on a sturdy, level surface, together with the PC or audio/
video source.
2 Place the projector an appropriate distance away from the screen. The distance
between the projector and the screen determines the actual size of the image.
3 Connect the power cord of the projector and the connected device to the wall
outlet.

• If the projected image looks distorted or bent, check to see if the screen is
installed properly.

Adjusting the Position of the Projection Screen
Adjust the angle of the projector to adjust the screen position.
• When adjusting the angle of the projector, be careful not to tilt the projector
backward.
• When adjusting the angle of the projector, be careful not to an excessive force
the projector. It may damage the projector.

Adjusting the Angle and Focus of the Projection
Screen
Be careful not to shake the product.
Automatically adjusts the angle and focus of the projection screen of the projector.

When an image appears on the screen, check if it is in focus and ts the screen
properly. If the angle and focus of the projection screen are not adjusted automatically,
you can make detailed adjustments manually.

NOTE
• After using the product at room temperature, turning on the power may blur the
focus if the inside temperature is low, but it will recover over time.
• This defocusing is a temporary phenomenon that occurs in low-temperature
environments, and this will not affect the product’s performance or lifespan.

Kensington Security System
• This projector has a Kensington Security Standard connector as an anti-theft
mechanism. Connect a Kensington Security System cable as shown below.
• For more information on installation and use of the Kensington Security System,
refer to the user’s guide provided with the Kensington Security System.

USING MAGIC LIGHTING REMOTE

Inserting Batteries in the Remote Control
If the battery low message appears while using the Projector, replace the batteries.
Use 1.5V, AA-type alkaline batteries. Replace the two batteries with new ones and
insert them according to the direction indicator inside the remote control.
1 Remove the battery cover on the back of the
remote control by sliding it downwards.
2 Insert the batteries to match the +, - polarity
symbols.
3 Close the battery cover.

Lighting Remote will operate like a general remote control.
To display the pointer on the screen again, shake the Magic
Lighting Remote to the left and right.
Wheel (OK)
Press the centre of the Wheel button to select a menu. You
can move cursor or menu by using the Wheel button.

These access special functions in some menus.
The remote control buttons light up so that you can use the
remote control in the dark.
If the remote control does not move, the pointer disappears
and the remote control light turns off in about 5 seconds.
The lighting function is applied when the product is shipped,
and if you press and hold the button for more than 5
seconds, the (POWER) button ashes twice and you
can turn the lighting function on or off.

Accesses the [Focus Adjustment].
(Focus Adjustment) *
Initializes the focus that has already been set and adjusts
the focus anew.
(Installation Wizard)
Accesses the [Installation Wizard].
(Mood Lighting)
Turns the Mood Lighting function on or off.

Pairing the Magic Lighting Remote
You must pair the Magic Lighting Remote with the projector to use it.
Pair the Magic Lighting Remote prior to use as follows.
1 Put batteries into the Magic Lighting Remote and turn the projector on.
2 Point the Magic Lighting Remote at your projector and press the Wheel
(OK) on the remote control.
• If the projector fails to register the Magic Lighting Remote, try again after
turning the projector off and back on.
Re-registering the Magic Lighting Remote
If the Magic Lighting Remote’s pointer does not appear on the projector, you must
re-register it.
1 Hold the remote control towards the projector and press the and
buttons at the same time for more than 5 seconds until instructions appear.
2 The previously registered remote control is deregistered and then registered
again.
Unregistering Magic Lighting Remote
If you have multiple LG Smart Projectors and want to register the Magic Lighting
Remote currently in use to another Projector, you must unregister the previous one.
1 If you press the button and the button at the same time for more
than 5 seconds, the lamp on Magic Lighting Remote will blink and the
registration will be canceled.
2 If you want to unregister and register for another LG Smart projector, please
follow the registration method above.

Using the Magic Lighting Remote
1 If you shake the Magic Lighting Remote left and right or turn its wheel while
pointing it at the projector, a pointer will appear on the projector screen. If you
move the remote control in the direction you want, the pointer follows the
movement.
2 Move the pointer to the location you want and press the Wheel (OK)
button to execute the function.
3 If the pointer has not been used for a certain period of time, it will disappear.
When the pointer disappears from the screen, shake the Magic Lighting
Remote right and left. It will then re-appear. The pointer will disappear if you
press Up/Down/Left/Right buttons, and the remote will work as a standard
remote control.
4 You can control the projector by scrolling or pressing Wheel (OK) button
in the middle of Up/Down/Left/Right buttons. When viewing a screen that
requires scrolling, you can easily move up and down by scrolling the Wheel
(OK) button. When watching a video, you can press the Wheel (OK)
button to pause/play.
• If the pointer is not responding smoothly, you can reset the pointer by moving it
to the edge of the screen.
• You can set the pointer speed and size you want while it is on the screen.

[Pointer Options]
[Tracking Speed]: Sets the pointer speed.
[Pointer Size]: Selects the pointer size.
• Use the remote control within the working distance (within 10m). If there is
an obstacle between the projector and the remote control, it may not operate
properly.
• Depending on the peripherals (wireless router, microwave oven, etc.),
communication failures may occur.
• Impacts can cause the Magic Lighting Remote to malfunction.
• Take care not to bump into nearby furniture, electronic equipment, or other
people when using the Magic Lighting Remote.
• The Magic Lighting Remote may not work properly if a wireless router (AP) is
within 0.2m of the Projector. Your wireless router should be more than 0.2m
away from the Projector.
