Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING: When using tool, basic safety precautions should always be fol-
lowed to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this product!
1. Avoid working alone. If an accident happens, an assistant can bring help.
2. Avoid electrical shock. Use extreme caution when clamping around
uninsulated conductors or bus bars. Prevent body contact with grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and cabinet enclosures when
testing voltages.
3. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
4. Observe work area conditions. Do not test voltages in damp or wet
locations. Keep work area well lighted.
5. Keep children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do
not let them handle Solar Charger or cords.
6. Store idle equipment. When not in use, Solar Charger must be stored in
a dry location to inhibit rust. Always lock up tools and keep out of reach of
children.
7. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can be
caught in moving parts. Protective, electrically nonconductive clothes and
nonskid footwear are recommended when working. Wear restrictive hair
covering to contain long hair.

reach over or across electrical cables or frames.
10. Maintain Solar Charger with care. Inspect Solar Charger cord periodically
and, if damaged, have it repaired by an authorized technician.
11. Use the right Solar Charger for the job. Do not attempt to force a small
Solar Charger to do the work of a larger industrial Solar Charger. There
are certain applications for which this Solar Charger was designed. Do not
modify this Solar Charger and do not use this Solar Charger for a purpose
for which it was not intended.
12. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate

Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or
reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate
the tool.
16. Special battery warnings: Batteries can explode under certain conditions
(such as excessive heat and/or poor ventilation). Make sure battery is
vented, and if it’s maintenance free and not able to be filled and has vent
slots, make sure vents are clear and dirt free.
Use this product in accordance with the battery’s and vehicle’s instruction
manual recommendations, safety warnings and charging instructions.
Warning: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this
instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations
that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common

Assembly and Operation
Note: Unit’s power cable polarity:
Black = Negative (-)
White = Positive (+)
Uses: This Solar Panel Charger is designed to provide a trickle charge to a 12
Volt battery on an automobile, truck, or tractor.
1. If not already connected, plug the Automobile Power Adaptor Cable (#3) to
the Solar Panel Output Cable (#5). See Assembly Drawing on page 5.
2. Connect the Automobile Power Adaptor Cable (#3) to the power socket in
the vehicle.
Note: The unit will begin to trickle charge the battery when exposed to enough
daylight. When this occurs, the L.E.D. Light (#4) will begin to blink. This unit
continually sends power as long as it receives natural daylight.
Note: You may leave the unit plugged in overnight and it will not drain your bat-
tery.
Short Term Temporary Use (Stationary Vehicle)
You may set the Solar Panel on the dashboard or hood of your vehicle if the
vehicle is stationary. Make sure the panel faces the correct position to receive full
sun.
Outdoor Mounting
1. Although the Solar Panel (#2) and Frame (#1) are weather resistant, you
should apply a bead of clear silicone sealant along the glass edges and the PVC
Frame.
2. Due to vehicle movement and weather conditions, use longer screws (not
included) to securely mount the unit.
Note:
Temperature on the dashboard can reach 195° F on hot day (over 89° F outside.)
Remove Solar Panel from direct sunlight and dashboard during hot days to pre-
vent plastic frame from melting. But if frame does become deformed or damaged
from heat, the Solar Panel will still function.
