A few tips in case of problems…
The appliance won't work.
The appliance isn't correctly plugged
in.
Check that the appliance is correctly plugged
in.
You haven't yet pressed the ON / OFF
button (|/O).

(|/O) but the appliance won't work.
Close the lid.
The appliance won't heat up.
Bring your appliance to an Approved Service

The paddle is not turning correctly.
Check that it is correctly in place otherwise
take your appliance to an Approved Service
Centre.
The paddle won't turn. The paddle isn't locked.
To clip the paddle correctly back in place,
reposition the paddle in the centre of the
cooking pan and then push it.
The food is not cooked evenly.
You haven't used the paddle. Fit the paddle.
The food has not been cut in the
same size and thickness pieces.
Cut the food to the same size and thickness.
The chips have not been cut in pieces
the same size and thickness.
Cut the chips to the same size and thickness.
The paddle is in the right position but
it won't turn.
Check that it has been pushed down and is
fitted correctly.
Bring the appliance to an Approved Service
Centre.
The chips are not crispy
enough.
You are using the wrong variety of
potatoes. Only use potatoes
recommended for making chips.
Choose a variety recommended for chips.
For the UK: We recommend using Maris Piper
or King Edward Varieties.
The potatoes haven't been
sufficiently washed and dried.
Wash the potatoes for a long time under cold,
running water to remove excess starch. Then
drain and dry them in a clean absorbent tea
towel before cooking. They must be
completely dry.
The chips are too thick.
Cut the chips thinner. The maximum thickness
chip dimensions are 13 mm x 13 mm.
There's not enough oil for the
quantity of chips.
Increase the quantity of oil (see “Cooking table”).
The filter is blocked. Clean the filter.
The chips break up whilst they
are being cooked.
The potatoes used are recently
harvested and hence have a high water
content.
Reduce the quantity of potatoes
and adjust the cooking time.
The food remains on the edge
of the dish.
Maximum level exceeded. Reduce the quantities.
Liquids from the cooking have
seeped into the body of the
appliance.
The maximum liquid level has been
exceeded.
Make sure the paddle is correctly positioned.
Don't exceed the maximum level mark. Do
not use your Actifry for making recipes with a
high liquid e.g soups. If the leaking problem
continues take the appliance to an Approved
Service Centre.
The appliance is making an
abnormal amount of noise.
You suspect that the appliance's
motors are not working properly.
Take the appliance to an Approved Service
Centre.
