STEP 2 Connect the Device
This guide provides instructions for quickly getting your Sierra Wireless
®
GX Series device con gured and connected.

Con guration User Guide
Both are available for download from the Sierra Wireless web site (www.sierrawireless.com/Support/Downloads).
1 Remove the four screws attaching the black cover to the device’s body.
If the GX device has a Wi-Fi, I/O, or Ethernet X-Card installed, refer to the AirLink GX Series
User Guide for instructions on installing a SIM card.
2 Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder.
Note the location of the notched corner for correct alignment.
3 Replace the cover using all 4 screws to maintain the IP65 rating.
1 Connect the RF antenna. 2 If required, connect the GPS and/or
the diversity antenna (recommended).
4 If required by your application, connect the RS-232 port and/or the USB port.
3 Connect a Windows
®
computer to the device
with an Ethernet cable.
5 Connect the power cable to the device.
The device starts automatically, as indicated by the  ashing LEDs.
STEP 1 Install the SIM Card (Does Not Apply to CDMA Devices)

Connect to AirVantage Management Service
1 Using a web browser, log into your AirVantage Management Service account.
If you don’t have an AirVantage account, you can get a free trial account at https://airvantage.net.
2 If you have not already done so, register all your devices by following the instructions on the registration page.
3 Apply power to all your devices. AirVantage Management Service completes the registration at the next device
check in (default device check in is every 24 hours).
4 You can remotely con gure and monitor all the devices at the same time with AirVantage Management Service.

1 On the Windows computer connected to the GX device, enter http://192.168.13.31: 9191 in the web browser.
The ACEmanager login screen appears.
NOTE: It may take the device 2 3 minutes to respond after the initial power up.
2 The administrator user name, user, is entered by default. Enter the default password 12345.
3 The ACEmanager homepage appears. You can now con gure each device with ACEmanager.
