Product Description

terminal server software.
SynOptics
®
software option and upgrade products protect your Lattis
System 3000
investment by allowing you to keep your system up to
date.
To install this software, you need to obtain a password from Bay
Networks. If you do not intend to install this software, return the
unopened software license envelope to your reseller.
Software License Certificate
The enclosed software license certificate is an important document
because it is your proof of purchase for your software license. Be sure
to store it in a safe place.
The certificate represents your license from Bay Networks to use the
software product on any one device you select. The license is not
transferable and is only valid for the one device you specify.
To run this software on more than one device, you must purchase
additional licenses.
Obtaining an Installation Password
You need a password to install this software. When you have selected
the device on which you want to install and use this software product,
contact the Bay Networks Password Hotline, either by FAX or by
phone, to obtain the necessary password before you proceed to the
installation.

Gathering Information
Before contacting the Password Hotline, have available the license
number on your license certificate and the last six alphanumeric
characters of the MAC address of the device. The MAC address is
printed on the label of the module’s shipping box and on the front panel
of the module. If the module is already installed, you can use network
management software to locate the MAC address.
Requesting the Password by FAX
Bay Networks recommends that you obtain your password via FAX
rather than phone. A FAX request minimizes the chance for error and
avoids a possibly lengthy phone call. A FAX form is included for your
use.
Please provide all of the following information:
License number and MAC address for each password
Your name, company, phone number, and FAX number
To avoid any delay, fill in and double-check the license number(s) and
device MAC address(es).
You will receive a response by FAX by noon Pacific Standard Time on
the next business day (excluding weekends and holidays). From outside
the U.S. and Canada, please submit your requests by the end of your
business day and you will receive a reply by 9 AM on your next
business day.
