2. About the Product

This product is the “All-in-One” type PC, which has a18.5-inch size (Full HD 1920×1080) LCD touch

screen integrated.

Rust-resistant stainless steel is used for the chassis and it fulfills the IPX2 drip-proof.

Moreover, the front side of the display adopts a fully flat structure, which meets the IP65 standard

and ensures drip-proofing and dust-proofing. This is the ideal product to be used in the places where

water damages may occur.

Various extendable interfaces such as 1000BASE-T, USB3.2 Gen1(USB3.0), and Serial are provided.

Furthermore, the product employs a M.2 card for storage and is fan-less to ensure a totally spindle-

less design that simplifies maintenance.

Embedded-type CPU has been adopted. The use of readily available parts ensures the product to be

applied easily. In addition, the use of CONTEC-customized BIOS allows support to be provided at the

BIOS level.

4. Features

 The entire housing adopts the IPX2 drip-proof

structure, and the front side of the monitor meets IP65

standard and ensures drip-proofing and dust-proofing.

The entire housing adopts the IPX2 drip-proof structure, and the front side of the monitor meets IP65 standard and resists power dust

and water damages.

 Rust-resistant stainless steel is used for the housing

Rust-resistant stainless steel is used for the housing and the drip-proof cover is provided to protect interfaces from water damages.

 Capacitive touch screen adopted

To avoid wrong detection due to water droplets, the screen is tuned to be operable with rubber gloves. Furthermore, the surface is

covered with an anti-glare film to reduce glare from lighting and other sources.

 "Power failure protection system" features power-off

without OS shutdown

Equipped with the "Power failure protection system" function that protects data and prohibits writing to storage in the event of power

failure. Along with the lockdown (disk writing suppression) function of Windows IoT Enterprise, power can be safely turned off without

a shutdown process. Moreover, file system damage or data damage caused by sudden power failure can be avoided.

 High-security design contributes to a highly reliable

system

The latest security functions such as TPM2.0 and Secure Boot, as well as CONTEC's original functions including the USB Boot Protect are

provided. This product is designed with the high security required for industrial applications in mind.

 CONTEC-customized BIOS provides useful utility

Useful utility of BIOS*1 customized by CONTEC is provided. The "CONTEC Fast Boot" achieves Windows startup in 10 seconds.*2

The "Disk Copy" function provides secure disk backup at the BIOS level, and also supports backup in file format or compressed file format.

We also offer the CONTEC tools “BIOS update tool” for updating BIOS.*3

 Fan-less design reduces maintenance work

The product is fan-less to ensure a totally spindle-less design that simplifies maintenance, relieving the concern about dust or foreign

matter to get into the product. Moreover, along with minimized use of degrading parts greatly reduce maintenance work.

 VESA standard support

Conforming to the VESA standard (100×100), the product can be set on the various types of arms or stands.

2. Handling Precautions

WARNING

 Always check that the power supply is turned off before connecting or disconnecting power

cables.

 Do not use the product in locations exposed to a flammable or corrosive gas. It may cause

explosion, fire, electrical shock, or malfunction.

 Do not touch metal parts (edge connector) with your hands. Otherwise, the product may

malfunction, or cause failure.

 When transporting the product, pack it in the same condition as delivered from the Contec or

in equal packing condition to avoid applying shock, vibration, or static electricity directly to

the product.

 Do not modify the product.

 Always turn off the power before inserting or removing the cables.

 This product is not intended for use in aerospace, space, nuclear power, medical equipment,

or other applications that require a very high level of reliability. Do not use the product in

such applications.

 If using this product in applications where safety is critical such as in railways, automotive, or

disaster prevention or security systems, please contact your retailer.

 Do not attempt to replace the battery as inappropriate battery replacement poses a risk of

explosion.

 For battery replacement, contact your retailer as it must be performed as a process of repair.

 When disposing of a used battery, follow the disposal procedures stipulated under the

relevant laws and municipal ordinances. For details on replacing the battery, refer to the

appendix.

 This product is not suitable for use in locations where children are likely to be present.

CAUTION

 Do not use or store this product in a location exposed to high or low temperature that

exceeds range of specification or susceptible to rapid temperature changes.

e.g. - Exposure to direct sun - In the vicinity of a heat source

 Do not use this product in extremely humid or dusty locations. It is extremely dangerous to

use this product with its interior penetrated by water or any other fluid or conductive dust. If

this product must be used in such an environment, install it on a dust-proof control panel, for

example.

 Avoid using or storing the product in locations subject to shock or vibration that exceeds

range of specification.

 Do not use this product in the vicinity of devices that generate strong magnetic force or

noise. Such products will cause this product to malfunction.

 Do not use or store this product in the presence of chemicals.

 To clean this product, wipe it gently with a soft cloth dampened with either water or mild

detergent. Do not use chemicals or a volatile solvent, such as benzene or thinner, to prevent

pealing or discoloration of the paint.

 CONTEC does not provide any guarantee for the integrity of data on storage.

 This product’s case may become hot. To avoid being burned, do not touch that section while

this product is in operation or immediately after turning off the power. Avoid installation in a

location where people may come into contact with that section.

 Always remove the power cable from the power outlet before connecting or disconnecting a

connector.

 Do not touch metal parts or terminals with your hands when the product is in operation.

Otherwise, the product may malfunction, or cause failure.

 To prevent corruption of files, shutdown the OS and always wait for five seconds or longer,

then turn off the power of this product.

 CONTEC reserves the right to refuse to service a product modified by the user.

 In the event of failure or abnormality (foul smells or excessive heat generation), unplug the

power cord immediately and contact your retailer.

 Use the power cable that matches the power supply voltage and outlet plug that you are

using.

 Always turn off the power before replacing storage. It is not hot-swappable. Removing the

storage during the operation may results in system damages.

 CONTEC does not guarantee for a 24-hour continuous operation of the product or

continuous current application to the product.

 Do not use any sharp-pointed object such as a mechanical pencil to touch the touch panel.

Doing so may scratch the touch panel, resulting in malfunctions.

 LCD may have a few bright spots that are always on or a few black spots that are always off.

Color irregularity may also occur depending on the viewing angle. This however is due to the

structural characteristics of the LCD; therefore, it is not a product fault.

 Burn-in on TFT Display

“Burn-in” may occur if the same display is retained for a long time. Avoid this by periodically

switching the display so that the same display is not maintained for a long time.

* Burn-In : Phenomenon characterized by a TFT display as a result of long-time display of

the same screen where a shadow-like trace persists because electric charge remains in the

LCD element even after the patterns are changed.

 This product's specifications allow the device to be rebooted from the BIOS screen during

startup. This has no effect on operation after the OS boots.

 This product may not operate properly in some cases due to factors such as the installation

environment of the device or the product, and the communication load of the network

system. Please check beforehand to make sure that the device is suitable for your

environment. For installation of the product, please ask a system integrator or other

specialists familiar with the wireless LAN network system construction.

 When replacing other type of wireless LAN device with this product, it may be necessary to

reconfigure the network system due to differences in specifications or functions of the

product. Before using this product, it is recommended that a full validation be conducted with

a rental device of the CONTEC's in actual operating environment.

 Metal objects within 30 mm around the antenna will affect the antenna characteristics. Do not

place any metal items near the antenna if possible.

Component Life

M.2 SSD --- The assumed life is about 3,000 times. For details on the life estimation, refer to

Appendix.

Battery --- The internal calendar clock and CMOS RAM are backed by a Lithium primary

battery. The backup time at a temperature of 25°C with the power disconnected for 16 hours

a day is 10 years or longer.

Backlight --- Backlight life is 50,000 hours.

(Ambient temperature 25°C±5°C, decreased to 50% of initial brightness)

Data transmission is always initiated by software, which is the passed down through the MAC,

through the digital and analog baseband, and finally to the RF chip. Several special packets are

initiated by the MAC. These are the only ways the digital baseband portion will turn on the RF

transmitter, which it then turns off at the end of the packet. Therefore, the transmitter will be on only

while one of the aforementioned packets is being transmitted. In other words, this device

automatically discontinue transmission in case of either absence of information to transmit or

operational failure. Frequency Tolerance: 20 ppm

Part15 Subpart C

This transmitter must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other antenna or

transmitter. This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled

environment and meets the FCC radio frequency (RF) Exposure Guidelines. This equipment should be

installed and operated keeping the radiator at least 20cm or more away from person’s body.
