Connecting the Pistol Grip onto the Tablet
(for MT-4008W/R)
The pistol grip is an option with 1D or 2D scan engine. Posiflex
provides two models of pistol grips, one with 1D scan engine and
the other one with 2D scan engine, which is just a gun grip for
users to easily operate the scanner by holding the pistol grip. To
install the pistol grip onto the tablet, follow the steps listed below.
1. Align the pistol grip with the wedge
track of the pistol grip, which is
formed on the rear side of the tablet.
2. Align the down arrow formed on the pistol grip with the
beginning segment of the arrow formed on the rear side of the
tablet.
3. Push the pistol grip in the direction indicated by the arrow in
the figure below.
Note: when the grip is connected to the rear side of the tablet, the
battery capacity indicator turns bright if the power energy of the
battery in the grip remains.
9
4. The pistol grip will be fixed and locked to the tablet when the
pistol grip is pushed to the point, where the down arrow
formed on the pistol grip is aligned with the destination of the
arrow formed on the rear side of the tablet.
5. If you want to check how much
capacity of the battery pack in the
pistol grip remains, press the battery
capacity checking button on the
pistol grip, and you will see the
battery capacity level through the
LED indicator.
Note: When the “FULL” indicator is bright, it is indicated that the
battery capacity is full; when the “LOW” indicator is bright, it is
indicated that the battery capacity is low, which prompts you to charge
the battery or change the battery pack.

1D or 2D scan engine. Besides, the pistol grip is bound with a
battery pack that can supply power to the tablet when running out
of the power of its internal battery. To replace the handstrap
cover with a pistol grip, follow the steps listed below.

the handstrap cover.

described above.
12
Inserting a microSD Card
Unfold the microSD card slot and then insert a microSD card into
the microSD card slot of the tablet. Before inserting the card,
determine to make the golden finger of the card be toward the
rear side of the tablet. As the smallest flash memory card, it stores
plenty of information even in a compressed state.
Inserting a 3G microSIM Card (Optional)
Unfold the SIM card slot and then insert a 3G microSIM card into
the SIM card slot of the tablet. Before inserting the card,
determine to make the circuit of the card be toward the rear side
of the tablet.
13
Charging the Battery
Before using the tablet and/or the barcode scanner provided in the
pistol grip for the first time, you need to charge it for about 8
hours. After that, you can charge the terminal for 4 hours to
recharge the battery to full capacity. Charge the terminal using
the 15W power adaptor.
CAUTION!
1. When the tablet gives you a message indicating it will run
out of power, please fully charge the battery to avoid data
loss.
2. Use only the power adapter that comes with your device.
Using a different power adapter may damage your device.
3. The tablet CANNOT be charged through its microUSB
port to the USB port of a computer.
MT-4008W/R
1. Connect the power connector of the power adaptor to the
tablet.
2. Plug the AC power adaptor cord into an
electrical outlet
14
At this time, the battery of tablet will be firstly charged. When the
battery of tablet is fully charged, the battery pack loaded in the
pistol grip will be then charged. When the battery pack loaded in
the pistol grip is fully charged, the “FULL” LED indicator of the
grip turns green.
When the tablet operates for a period of time, because the battery
pack loaded in the pistol grip constantly supplies power to the
tablet, the battery will be consumed. At this time, charge the
battery pack with a power adaptor or change the battery pack
immediately.
MT-4008W/H
1. Connect the power connector of the power adaptor to the
tablet.
2. Plug the AC power adaptor cord into an
electrical outlet. At this time, the battery
of tablet will be charged.

to power on the tablet. To wake up the tablet from sleep mode,
press the power button. If the system is unresponsive, press and

result in data loss. It is strongly recommended to back up
important data on a regular basis.
Warning: When the battery capacity of tablet turns low and
thus the tablet is made to shut down, charge the battery with
the power adaptor immediately. If the battery is charged for
less than 3 minutes, do NOT power ON the tablet. Please wait
