Introduction:
The Vantec 2.5” Mobile Rack gives you the flexibility to bring your storage with you
quickly and easily without having to deal with numerous cables. When at home, just
insert the enclosure into the rack and you will instantly have a high speed SATA
connection to your drive. If you need to take it with you, just eject the enclosure,
grab the included USB cable, and you’ll still have access to all of your data while on
the road.

Installation:
Rack + Bracket:
The Rack is the interface between the enclosure and your computer.
It fits in a 3.5” bay but can be used in a 5.25” bay with the Bracket.

EZ Swap EX Enclosure
The enclosure is a self-contained USB hard drive enclosure. When
inserted in the rack, it will function as a SATA drive. Outside the
rack, it will perform as a USB enclosure.

3.5” Bay Installation
STEP 1 : Insert 3.5” Bay Insertion Rack into an open
3.5” slot of PC case and attach with screws.
STEP 2 : Connect the 4-pin power cable to Rack’s power
connector.
STEP 3 : Connect the 7-pin SATA cable to Rack’s SATA
connector.

STEP 4 : Connect the other end of SATA cable to the SATA
port on the Motherboard.
(Refer to the manual of your Motherboard)

5.25” Bay Installation
STEP 2 : Connect the 4-pin power cable to power connector
on the Rack.
STEP 3 : Connect the 7-pin SATA cable to SATA connector
on the Rack.
STEP 4 : Connect the other end of the SATA cable to the
SATA port on the Motherboard.
(Refer to the manual of your Motherboard)

STEP 1 : Screw the 3.5” Insertion Rack to the Bracket.
Insert Bracket into an open 5.25” bay and
attach with screws.

Enclosure Assembly
STEP 1 : Pull out the PCB from the aluminum housing.
STEP 2 : Connect the 2.5” HDD to the circuit board.

STEP 3 : Screw HDD to the circuit board.
STEP 4 : Insert the board & HDD into aluminum housing.
Screw the back cap onto the housing.

Insertion of Enclosure into Rack
STEP 1 : Insert Enclosure into Rack.
STEP 2 : Push Enclosure all the way in until ejection
button pops out.

Ejection of Enclosure
STEP 1 : Press the eject button.
STEP 2 : Pull out Enclosure smoothly.
NOTE: DO NOT PULL OUT THE ENCLOSURE WITHOUT
PRESSING THE EJECT BUTTON!
DO NOT PUSH THE EJECT BUTTON WHEN THE LIGHT
ON ENCLOSURE IS FLASHING.

Warranty
The 2.5” SATA Mobile Rack comes with a 1 year limited warranty. If your unit should become
defective within that time frame, please go to http://www.vantecusa.com for information on how
to receive warranty exchange or repair. Cosmetic defects and missing parts are not covered
under this warranty. Please check the contents of the unit to make sure you received all parts.
Also, check for any cosmetic flaws. If any parts are missing or if there are cosmetic defects,
please contact the retailer from which you purchased the unit immediately and ask for a
replacement.
