Introducingthesystemtolibrarystaffandpatrons
Theintroductionofaself-servicesystemfundamentallychangesmaterialflowwithinalibrary,so3Mstronglyrecommendsthat
yourentirestaffshouldbeinvolvedduringthepreparationphase.Althoughthesystemisdesignedforintuitiveuse,yourstaff
shouldbepreparedtoassistlibrarypatronsduringsystemintroduction.
3Mrecommendsusingthismanualforperiodictrainingsessionswithlibrarystaffsinceitcontainssafetyinformation,machine
specifications,commonlyusedprocedures,andotherinformationusefulduringday-to-dayoperations.Also,pleasemakethis
manualaccessiblewhenthesystemisinusesoitcanserveasareferenceguideduringoperation.

Operations
Turnthesystemonandoff
UsethepowerswitchtoturntheSelfChecksystemon.Forinformationonshuttingthesystemdownandonrestartingthesoftware,
seetheSelfCheckManagerUserGuide,whichisincludedontheuserdocumentationCD.
Loadprinterpaper
Usethefollowingproceduretoloadanewrollofpaperinthe
printer.
1.OpentheprinteraccesscoverattherearoftheSelfCheck
usingthekey.The3M
DualLock
anchorswillsecure
thecoveropen.
2.Swingthepaperretainertoggletotheunlockedposition
and,ifpresent,removetheusedpaperspoolandanypaper
remnantsintheprinter.
3.Withthepaperrollpositionedtounrolltowardtheprinter
asshown,slidethenewpaperrolloverthetoggleandonto
thespool,thenswingthetoggleintothelockedposition
asshown.
4.Withprinterpoweron,feedthepaperendintotheslotnear
thetopoftheprinter.Theprinterwillautomaticallyload,
align,andcutthepaper.
Opencovertoaccessprinterandpaperrollspindle
Toggleoperation:lockingandunlocking
Notetheslotshapeandorientationinthelockedandunlocked
positions.Thetogglemustbesnugagainstthepaperroll(no
gap)inthelockedpositionforproperprinteroperation.
