Congratulations! With your new, innovative XANTÉ Heavy Stock Enabled CL30, you now can print
on heavy weight media up to 330 g/m
2
.
Multi-Purpose Tray
The multi-purpose tray handles from 176 g/m
2
(8 point) up to 330 g/m
2
(16 point) media. Sheet
capacity varies depending upon the medias thickness; for example, you can load 15 sheets of 14 point
stock. Normally, you can load up to 25 sheets of heavier stock; however, if you run sheets under 175
g/m
2
thickness, you may need to feed the sheets one at a time from this tray or use the cassette tray.
The following list covers common heavy stock medias that the multi-purpose tray is able to handle.
Also, a full paper conversion chart is available on XANTÉ’s web site (www.xante.com/paper).
• 97 lb. Index to 200 lb. Index
• 65 lb. Cover to 130 lb. Cover
• 8 Point to 16 Point
• 176 g/m
2
to 330 g/m
2
Normal manufacturing tolerances can be ± 5 to 7%. For this reason, g/m
2
is the most accurate way to
measure paper weight.

To load media in the multi-purpose tray
1. Open the multi-purpose tray and extend the paper feed guides (fig. 1).
Fig. 1 Open the Multi-Purpose Tray Fig. 2 Open the Straight-Through Paper Exit
2. Load the media print side up in the multi-purpose tray and adjust the paper guides to the size of
the media being used.
Make sure the media stack does not exceed the multi-purpose tray’s media full line.
3. Open the straight-through paper exit (fig. 2) and extend the paper supports.
Always use the straight-through exit path for heavy stock printing. Make sure the straight-through
paper exit is open and the paper supports are extended (fig. 2).
To prevent media jams in the multi-purpose tray
• Don’t leave space between the media and the paper guides.
• Do not over fill the tray. Capacity depends on the medias type and weight.
• Do not load damaged media or media of different sizes, quality, or thickness at the same time.
• Do not open or close the rear paper exit while printing.
• Fan paper to separate the sheets.
Once media is loaded into the multi-purpose tray, you need to configure the printer for ultra heavy
media. See your printer user’s manual for details.
Light Media Weight
The light media weight settings begin at 24 lb. US Bond (90 g/m
2
).
