Card Programming
In order for the card reader to operate, the unique serial number
programmed into each card to be used must be programmed to a separate
user on the Galaxy panel. This is done by programming the numbers into
the MAX number section of the user, in menu 42, under the desired user.
This can be simplified by using the self-learn procedure described below.
The card held function needs to be programmed here, to allow the card to
set and unset the system. Refer to the relevant sections in the Galaxy
Panel user or installation manuals for full details. (Menu 42 - codes.)
Card Self-Learn Procedure
Not all proximity cards and tags have the serial numbers printed on them.
However, the card number must be programmed into the Galaxy panel to
allow the card to work. To simply this programming process, a card self-
learn procedure has been included in the Keyprox.
Note: The card self-learn procedure should only be used whilst the
Keyprox is in the user menu for entering the MAX card number and the
panel is waiting for the actual card number to be entered. Use of the self-
learn at other times will result in random menu selections.
Procedure
1. Use the Keyprox to enter menu option 42.1. Select the user to
which the card is to be assigned. Within the user menu, select
option 7=MAX Number.
2. Delete all the digits of the existing number using the B< button.
3. Place the keypad in the Self-Learn mode by holding the A button
and pressing 1 button simultaneously. The keypad will give a
double beep to indicate entry into the Self-Learn mode.
4. Within 3 seconds of the double beep, swipe the new card at the
Keyprox.
5. The card number will appear one the keypad display.
6. Press ENT to save the card number.
7. To enter more cards, repeat the procedure for other users.
Note: The Self-Learn mode will time out after 3 seconds if no card is
presented. During the Self-Learn mode operation, the keypad buttons will
not function.
