RPS Studio Plus
The RPS RS-SP600 Monolite is the latest technological
design in high power professional monolites. Featuring
internal fan cooling, replaceable flash tube, and LCD digital
back, the SP600 even keeps track each time the flash tube
is triggered. All of the settings are controlled on the back of
the unit.
Preparing Your Flash for Use
1) Carefully remove the flash unit from the box. The unit is
supplied with a modeling lamp, power cord, flash tube
(installed), reflector, synch cord, and protective cap.
2) Mount the flash unit on an appropriate light stand and
adjust the angle to suit.
3) Remove the protective cap and install the modeling light
by screwing it into the threaded socket. CAUTION: Do not
touch the lamp with your bare hands. Oil residue from your
fingers can cause the surface of the lamp to heat unevenly
and explode.
4) Install the reflector on the front of the unit. The reflector
bayonets into position and is held secure by turning the
locking ring clockwise until snug.
5) Before plugging the power cord into the wall socket, be
certain that the power switch is set to the off “O" position.
NOTE: This unit is designed to work on 110-120 Volts 60 HZ
AC current.
6) Turn the power switch
to the on “—" position.
You will hear a slight
whirring noise: this is the
internal cooling fan. The
flash will sound a beep
and indicate the voltage
on the display for a few
seconds. Once the unit has reached full capacity, an audible
beep will sound and the LCD display will show all of the
current settings.

Flash Output “Flash” This is the power ratio selected. 6.0
is full power. As the unit is recycling this number will flash.
When the unit is fully powered the number will stop flashing.
Ready Beeper Beep sounds once when the flash is
recycled and ready to flash. A musical note indicates that the
audible beep tone is set to the “ON” position. When the
beeper is “OFF” the musical note will not be displayed.
Photo Cell An “eye” symbol represents the built-in photo
cell. The number, if displayed, indicates the setting mode for
the photo cell. “Eye” not displayed means photo cell is off.
Voltage This is a constant readout of the voltage being
supplied to the unit from the house current. It may fluctuate
during use. This is normal.
F/Times This is a numerical indication of the number of
times the flash tube has been fired.
Other Also on the back of the unit you will find up/down
arrows, Mode button, Enter button, Test button, Power Cord
input, the 3.5 mm Flash Synch Cord input, Main Power
Rocker switch, and the fuse cover.
