CB-1200 Safety instructions
2.1 General safety
The fresh air cooling system may only be installed by qualified
workshops. The following information is intended for technicians who
are familiar with the guidelines and safety precautions to be applied.
You must read and understand these installation instructions prior to
installing the fresh air cooling system. Observe also the information on
installation in chapter “Installing the fresh air cooling system” on page 39.
The relevant national installation regulations must be observed during
mounting.
Disconnect all connections to the power supply when working on the
device.
Only on CB-1200-AC/DC: Make sure the inverter is also switched off
and its power supply is disconnected.
The fresh air cooling system must be installed in such a way that it
cannot tip over or fall down.
Do not operate the fresh air cooling system if it is visibly damaged.
Do not operate the fresh air cooling system if the ambient temperature
is below 0 °C.
Do not remove the upper cover of the fresh air cooling system in the
event of a fire. Use approved fire extinguishers instead. Do not use
water to extinguish fires.
Maintenance and repair work on the fresh air cooling system may only
be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the risks
involved and the relevant regulations. Inadequate repairs can lead to
considerable hazards. For repair service, please contact the service
centre in your country (addresses on the back).
If the total height of your vehicle, as specified in your vehicle documents,
is increased after installing the fresh air cooling system, please have the
new height noted in your documents by the appropriate authorities (MOT).
2.2 Handling electrical cables
If cables must be laid through sharp-edge panels, use cable ducts or tubes!
Do not lay loose or bent cables next to electrically conductive materials
(metal).
Do not pull on the cables!
Attach and lay the cables in such a manner that they cannot be tripped
over or damaged.
Always use electrical connectors that are grounded and protected by
residual current circuit breakers.
The electrical power supply may only be connected by a qualified
workshop (e.g. regulated in Germany by VDE 0100, Part 721).
Secure at least the connection to the power supply in the vehicle with a
fuse rated at 10 amp.
Do not lay the 230 V mains cable and the 12 V DC cable in the same
cable duct.
