to replace a damaged impeller. Par t s that
are chipped, cracked, br oken, or dam-
aged in any other way can fly apart and
cause serious i njur y. Replace damaged
parts befor e using t he unit .
D Never place any object in the air intake
opening as this could restr ict proper air
flow and cause damage to t he unit .
D Never douse the unit wit h water or other
liqui ds or squirt with a water hose. Clean

D Check air intake openings and tubes fre-
quently , always with the unit stopped and
power source di sconnected. Keep vents
and tubes fr ee from debris which can ac-
cumulate and r estr i ct proper air flow.
D Do not burn, incine rate, or expose this
unit to extreme heat.
D Store the unit unplugged in a high, cool,
dr y, indoor area out of the re ach of chil-
dren.
D Use only recommended attachments
and replacement parts to avoid creating a
hazar d and/or voiding your warranty.
D Maintain the unit according to recom-
mended procedures.
BLOWER SAFETY
D Use only in dayl ight or in good artificial
light.
D Inspect the area before using the unit .
Remove all debris and hard objects such
as rocks, glass, wire , etc. , that can rico-
chet , be thrown, or othe rwise cause injury
or damage duri ng operat i on.
D Never run the unit without the proper
equipment attached. When used as a
blower, always install a blower tube. Use
only recommended att achments.
D To avoid spreading fire, do not use blower
near leaf or brush fires, fi r eplaces, barbe-
cue pi t s, ashtrays , etc.
D Never place object s inside the blower
tubes; always direct the blowing debris
away fr om people, ani m als, glass, and
solid objects such as t r ees, automobil es,
walls,etc.Theforceofaircancause
rocks, dirt, or sticks to be thrown or to rico-
chet which can hurt people or animals,
break glass, or cause other damage.
D Never use for spreading chemicals, fertil-
izers, or any ot her subst ances which may
cont ain toxic mat erial s.
VACUUM SAFETY (If applicable)
D Stop the motor and disconnect the power
source before opening the air inlet door or
attempting to insert or remove the vacu-
um tubes. The motor must be stopped
and the impeller blades no longer tur ning
to avoid serious injury from the rotati ng
blad es.
D Hard objects can be thr own thr ough the
collect ion bag or the housing and be-
come danger o us missiles whi ch can
cause seriou s inj ury to operator or other s.
D When using the vacuum attachment, the
unit is designed to pick up dry materi al
such as leaves, grass, small twigs, and
bits of paper . Do not vacuum stones,
grave l, metal, broken glass, etc., to avoid
severe damage to the impell er. To avoid
the possibility of electrical shock, do not
att empt to vacuum water or other liquids.
D Never run the unit without the proper
equipment attached. When used as a
vacuum, alwa ys install va cuum tubes
and collecti on bag assembly. Make sure
the collection bag assembly is completely
zipped when unit is running to avoid flying
debr is. Use only recom m en ded att ach-
ments.
D Avoid situati ons which could set the col-
lecti on bag on fire. Do not vacuum di s-
carded matches, cigars, ci gar ett es, or
ash f r om fir epl aces, barbecue pi ts, brush
piles, etc. To avoid spreading fi r e, do not
use blower near leaf or brush fires, fire-
places, barbecue pit s, ashtrays, etc.
D Always use collection bag shoulder strap
when vacuumin g to avoid loss of control.
D Check air in t a ke openings, elbow t ube ,
and vacuum tubes frequentl y, alw ays
wit h the unit stopped and the power
source disconnected. Keep vent s and
tub es free of debri s which can accumu-
late and restrict proper air flow. Do not
use with any opening blocked. Keep free
of dust, lint , hair and anything that may re-
duce air flow.
