from the rotatingblades.

REMOVE THE INLET RESTRICTOR

um use.

NOTE: Be sure to keep the inlet re-

strictor for using your unitas a blower.

• Open the inlet cover by insertingthe

tipof a screwdriverintothe inletcover

latcharea, and twistingthe screwdriver

whilepullingthe inletcoveropen.

ATTACHING THE VACUUM TUBES

There are 2 vacuum tubes, an upper

and lower tube. The uppertube is cut

straighton both ends, and attaches to

the blower unit.The second tube is cut

an at angle on the lowerend. This

' -._angled end willpointtoward the

groundduringvacuum use.

• Locate the arrows on the upper vac-

uumtube and on the vacuum inlet

area of_heunit.

• While holdingthe inletcover open,

alignthe arrows and insertthe vacu-

um tube intothe opening. Twistthe

tube dock'wiseuntilitis seated. A

second arrowon the vacuumtube

willalignwith the arrow on the unit

once the tube twistedcompletelyin

place.

• Attach the lower vacuum tube to the

upper vacuum tube by aligning the

arrows on the two tubes. Press the

tubes together until the lower tube is

fully seated in the upper tube. (About

3 inches)

Slide the openingof the collection bag

over the bloweroutlet. Pullthe strap

with Velcro tightlythrough the budde

and secure with Velcrotabs.

NOTE: Make sure the strap with

Velcro is locatedonthe bloweroutlet

as shown.Also, make surethe zipper

on the bag iscompletely clnsed.

ADJUSTING THE SHOULDER STRAP

• Carefully loop the shoulder strap

through the buckle as shown in the

illustration below.

uptight position,and supportthe low-

er vacuumtube on the ground.

• Placethe shoulder strap over your

head and onto your leftshoulder.

ofair from the blower. Ifthe collection

bag is kinked, the unitwill notoper-

ate properly.

NOTE: The strap isdesignedtoposition

the collectionbeg onyourshoulderwith-

out kinks. The strap isnot intendedto

supportthe weightofthe unit..

This restdctor improves the blower

• Close the inlet cover and make sure

it is latched closed.

• Re-install the blower tubes. Refer to

the section A'R'ACHING THE BLOWER

TUBE AND NOZZLE for instructions on

how to attach these items.

• Remove the bag and empty after

each use. Do notstore bag without

emptyingthe bag of allcontents.

• Wash the bag once a year by turning

inside outand washing with a water

hose. Be sureto letbag dry com-

pletelybefore reusingthe unit.

HOW TO REMOVE AN OBJECT

FROM THE AIR INTAKE

NOTE: If the unitbecomes dogged, or

an objectis drawn intothe airintake,

stopthe unitand disconnectthe exten-

sioncord. Wait untilthe impellerhas

completelystopped turning,then re-

move the vacuumtubes. Carefutty

reach intothe vacuum opening and

clear outthe air intake area.

Inspect the impellerfor cracks. If

cracked or damaged, do not usethe

unit.Have parts replaced by your

Sears Service Center. Do notattempt

to replace them yourself.

BLOWER STORAGE

• Clean the entire unit.

• Open inlet cover and clean any dirt,

grass, ordebris that has collected.

Inspectthe blowerand all tubes.

Close end make sure the cover is

latched.

• Clean airventsand airinletof debds.

• Store your unitand extensioncord in

a well ventilated area and covered, if

possible,to preventdustand dirtac-

cumulation.Do notcover with plastic.

Plasticcannot breatheand may

cause condensationand eventual

rust or corrosion.

• Check entireunitfor loosescrews,

nuts, and bolts. Replace any dam-

aged, worn, orbroken parts.
