secondsfortheThinkServerManagementModule(TMM,alsoknownasBMC)toinitializewheneveryou

period,theserverwillnotstartimmediately;itwillstartaftertheTMMinitializationfinishes.

Turningofftheserver
CAUTION:
Thepowercontrolbuttononthedeviceandthepowerbuttononthepowersupplydonotturnoff
theelectricalcurrentsuppliedtothedevice.Thedevicealsomighthavemorethanonepower
cord.T oremoveallelectricalcurrentfromthedevice,ensurethatallpowercordsaredisconnected
fromthepowersource.
Theservercanbeturnedoffinoneofthefollowingways:
Turnofftheserverfromtheoperatingsystemifyouroperatingsystemsupportsthisfeature.Afteran
orderlyshutdownoftheoperatingsystem,theserverwillturnoffautomatically.Forinstructionsonhow
toshutdownyourspecificoperatingsystem,refertotherelateddocumentationorhelpsystemfor
theoperatingsystem.
Pressthepowerbuttononthefrontpaneltostartanorderlyshutdownoftheoperatingsystemandturn
offtheserver,ifyouroperatingsystemsupportsthisfeature.
Ifyourserverstopsrespondingandyoucannotturnitoff,pressandholdthepowerbuttononthe
frontpanelforfoursecondsormore.Ifyoustillcannotturnofftheserver,disconnectallpowercords
fromtheserver.
YoualsocanusetherelatedTMMfeaturetoremotelyturnofftheserverthroughthemanagementLAN.
Theservermightbeturnedoffasanautomaticresponsetoacriticalsystemfailure.
Notes:
Whenyouturnofftheserverandleaveitconnectedtoanacpowersource,theserveralsocanrespond
toaremoterequesttoturnontheserver.Toremoveallpowerfromtheserver,youmustdisconnect
theserverfromtheacpowersource.
