ISO-CAT II - ADA BUS® - CAT-LINK™ - RS-232 I/O
The ISO-CAT II combines the features of the ISO-CAT with
microprocessor controlled clear-to-send for more advanced system
integration and better integration with the CD Server. The ISO-
CAT II also features reverse switches that make it a suitable I/O
for a myriad of configurations. LED test indicators also RX, TX,
CTS, and Overload.
Setup #1 - Standard ADA Bus to RS-232
Connection for ADA PC Software Setup or
System Integration with a control system (i.e.
AMX, Crestron, Lutron, PCs).

Setup #2 - Centrally Located CD Servers
(Specific CD Servers designed to integrate
with ADA’s Special CD protocal.)
The ISO-CAT II was specifically designed
with clear-to-send (CTS) so that the CD
servers (like AMX MAX & IMS servers) will
update song information even if other system
functions are occurring during the update.
With the ISO-CAT II’s CTS feature, once other
bus activity is clear, the ISO-CAT II will
indicate CTS and the CD server will then
update status. For Escient and Request
servers, the MSC-1 is used to interface them to
ADA systems and not the ISO-CAT II.
Use only straight-through 9 pin cables (not criss-
cross) for connection to RS-232 port.
When the ISO-CAT II is in the proper standby (ready)
state, all three status LEDs are green.

Setup #4 - Stand Alone Control of Tune Suite
In this setup, the Tune Suite is either being setup
via a PC running ADA’s Tune Suite program or is
being controlled by a touch screen system. If this
were a complete ADA system, control of the Tune
Suite would be done as illustrated in Setup #1.
Please note, a local power supply is required to
power both the ISO-CAT II and the Bus Isolator
(built into the Tune Suite). This power supply
connects on top of the Tune Suite ADA Bus
connection across pins 1 (+V) and pin 4 (Gnd).
Setup #3 - Extension of ADA Bus - When an ADA
network is at an extended distance from the mainframe.
Using Cat. 5 cable, the ISO-CAT II is connected to the
mainframe’s wire harness. A local wire harness can be
added for local ADA components. Because of the Cat. 5 to
Cat. 5 connection, proper setting of the ISO-CAT II’s buttons
is critical. An option to this setup would permit a PC
(running ADA programs) or a control system to
communicate with a remote central mainframe via Cat-5.
