DESCRIPTION
The WattStopper LMCS-100 Configuration
Software allows users to read, store
configurations and modify DLM parameters
for easy computer based configuration. It
communicates from the computer to the DLM
network using the LMCI-100 Interface, which is a USB dongle that
connects a computer’s USB port to the Digital Lighting Management
(DLM) local network through its RJ45 connector.

NECESSARY SOFTWARE PACKAGES
The following software packages are needed for operation
of the LMCS-100 application. They are available on the CD
supplied with the LMCI-100 and are available on-line at
http://www.wattstopper.com/software/LMCS-100
LMCI-100 Device Drivers.
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. (Not needed if your
computer already has it.)
• LMCS-100 Application.
INSTALLATION FROM THE CD INCLUDED WITH THE LMCI100
1. Insert the LMCS-100 CD in your computer’s CD drive.
2. Install the LMCI-100 Device Driver.
a) Open the LMCI-100 Drivers folder.
b) Run the CDM 2.04.16.exe file by double-clicking
it. The software normally pops up a temporary
command line window and automatically installs
the driver. No other indication is given that the
installation has finished.
3. Plug the LMCI-100 into a USB port on the computer.
4. Check for the presence of Microsoft .NET Framework
3.5 SP1 on your computer.
This package is not needed if it is already installed on
the computer. If you don’t know whether this package is
already installed or not, try installing it.
a) From the LMCS-100 CD, open the dot NET
Framework 3.5 SP1 Redistributable folder.
b) Run the dotnetfx35.exe file by double-clicking it. If a
message appears and asks you whether to repair or
to uninstall the software, that means your computer
already has it so you can cancel this process.
Note: Installing this package (should your computer
need it) will take several minutes to complete. You
must agree to the Microsoft Software Supplemental
License Terms presented in the LMCommissioning
Tool Setup window.
5. Install the LMCS-100 Application.
a) Go to the top level directory of the CD. Double-
click the Setup.exe file. This starts the software
installation.
b) Follow the screen directions as necessary.
Note: If your computer does not have the .NET
Framework 3.5 SP1 software installed the setup
software will attempt to install it by downloading it
from the Internet. This process will take a very long
time so it is preferable to cancel the installation and
go back to step 4.

INSTALLATION FROM THE WEB
During software installation, Internet Explorer may be
configured to warn you if the software publisher cannot
be verified. If the warning message appears during
installation you should simply continue by clicking on
“Run”.
The installation package automatically searches your
computer to determine if Microsoft “.NET Framework 3.5
SP1” is installed. If it is not found the installation package
will download it and install it for you. This process can
take a long time. To save time, if you have the installation
CD you can cancel the web-based installation and install
the “.NET Framework 3.5 SP1” package first using the CD.
See INSTALLATION FROM THE CD... step 4 on the other
side of this page.
1. Open up Internet Explorer (other web browsers such
as Firefox, Chrome, and others will not work) and
navigate to:
http://www.wattstopper.com/software/LMCS-100/
2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Install the LMCI-100 drivers (you can skip this step if
they have been installed previously).
3. Plug the LMCI-100 interface into a USB port on the
computer, plug the DLM Local Network cable into the
LMCI-100 and make sure the DLM Local Network is
powered.
4. Install the System Components and LMCS-100
application.
Once the installation is complete, a new Icon (called
LMCS-100) appears on the desktop and a new
program link is created on the Windows Startup
menu. The software starts up automatically.
STARTUP
Before starting the LMCS-100 software:
1. Be sure the LMCI-100 interface is plugged into a USB
port on the computer.
2. The DLM Local Network cable is plugged into the
LMCI-100.
3. The DLM Local Network is powered up.
To startup the LMCS-100 software, double click the shortcut
Icon on the Windows Desktop labeled LMCS-100.
NOTE: You can start the software without the LMCI-100
connected but the software will be in OFFLINE mode. To
communicate with the DLM network, the LMCI-100 must
be connected to the computer’s USB port before the
software is started.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The LMCI-100 power LED
is not on.
1. Check that the unit is connected to the USB port of a computer.
2. Check that the computer is on and running the LMCS-100 DLM software package.
The LMCI-100
communication LED is not
on and doesn’t blink.
1. Check that the unit is connected to the USB port of a computer.
2. Check that the computer is on and running the LMCS-100 DLM software package.
3. Check that the LMCI-100 is connected to the DLM local network through its RJ45 port:
Unplug the LMRJ cable from the LMCI-100 then plug in a different DLM device to that LMRJ
cable. If the device does not power up, recheck DLM local network connections between the
LMCI-100 and the room controller.
1. Be sure the LMCI-100 interface is plugged into a USB port on the computer,
the DLM Local Network cable is plugged into the LMCI-100 and the DLM
Local Network is powered.
2. Be sure all necessary software packages are installed on the computer (see
first page of these instructions).
