Release note – software version n°1336_2438

Software Update Process

Software update, if any, will be notified on home screen with a red label on the “Settings”

icon.

To start the update process:

- select « Settings » item from home screen,

- then select “Download” item

- Download will start automatically and will last for about 30mn. Susequently, the device

will reboot automatically until “Homescreen” is displayed and announced.

Please do not use SmartVision when the download is in progress.

You must have data connection, Wi-Fi or 3G enabled to download the software update.

Because of important size of this update (about 1GB), we recommend to use the Wi-Fi

connection for downloading.

SmartVision regularly checks the availability of updates and you will be notified automatically.

However, you can manually check the availability an update from "Settings" menu, then

select « About phone”, and finally select “System update”.

SmartVision System improvements:

- Overview:

o Bug fixed and stability improvements

o Translation fixed and improved in Italian and Netherlands versions

- Accessibility:

o Speech speed increased for "very fast" level.

o Improved vocalization of specific elements such as announcement of input

fields, lists and grayed (non selectable) items.

o Vibration feedback on selectable items: when “explore by touch” mode is

enabled.

- User Interface:

o New shortcuts using "keyboard"

 Long press on pound « # » key, then press on « 4 » key allows to

decrease the speech speed.

 Long press on pound « # » key, then press on « 5 » key allow to increase

the speech speed.

o Addition of an « Advanced Edition » mode to edit text:

This mode allows navigating into an input area to modify or insert a character or

a word. To edit an input area, press continuously on star “*” key and

simultaneously press one of keys as follow:

 Continuous press on star « * » key and short press on pound « # » key :

selects the whole text.

 Continuous press on star « * » key and short press on key “1” : moves

the cursor one character to the left.

 Continuous press on star « * » key and short press on key “2” : moves

the cursor one word to the left.

 Continuous press on star « * » key and short press on key “3” : moves

the cursor back to the beginning of the text.

 Continuous press on star « * » key and short press on key “4” : moves

the cursor one character to the right.

 Continuous press on start « * » key and short press on key “5” : moves

the cursor one word to the right.

 Continuous press on star « * » key and short press on key “6” : moves

the cursor at the end of the text.

 Continuous press on star « * » key and short press on key “7” : copy the

selected text.

 Continuous press on star « * » key and short press on key “8” : cut the

selected text.

 Continuous press on star « * » key and short press on key “9” : paste the

selected text.

o When keypad is used to enter text, a beep is played when typed character is

taken into account

o Improvements of user interface design when “large” and “very High” font size

are used. All items out of the screen are scrolled when they are selected.

- Vocalization:

o Current time is announced when exiting from sleep mode using ON/OFF button.

o Level of sound is now announced with percentage information.

o The voice command « Call » + « contact name » invites user to select a phone

number if the Contact contains multiple phone numbers (mobile, home, office,

etc ...).

- Dictation Mode:

o When dictation is used the text field is now filled with accented characters

(depends on languages)

Applications:

- Audio Recorder:

o Option added allowing renaming an existing voice memo record.

o Vocal confirmation when voice memo is saved or deleted.

- Email:

o Shortcut added for “answering” or “deleting” an email from Inbox by a long

press on “OK” key.

o Option "Text Mode" added allowing to convert the Email content to text format

in order to improve accessibility and readability.

- Browser:

o Improvement of web links vocalization.

o Add of a "search" item from the Menu of the Internet application. This option

allows performing a quick search on the web through the default search engine.

o A sound (beep) is added when loading of a web page.

- Kapten - GPS:

o Improvement of the feedback information returned by the road-book.

o "Empty list" information added when no candidate is found with the input entry

(country, city or a street name).

- Messaging (SMS/MMS):

o Improvement of opening, reading and saving attachments in an MMS.

- OCR:

o A « Display » option is added in OCR application menu. This new option allows

reading the results of the OCR line by line or all at once (whole page).

o A « Sound effects» option is added in order to help user to maintain

SmartVision horizontality allowing higher resolution and better result.

- FM Radio:

o Correction of intermittent loss of sound.
