Avaya 12-Key is a powerful hardware accessory that connects to your Avaya IP Phone 1200 series device and provides additional line keys and feature keys. You can place the IP Phone and LCD Expansion Module on your desktop or wall-mount them for a more convenient setup.

Quick Reference Guide
This document provides information about the LCD Expansion Module with 12-key self-
labeling display for the IP Phone 1200 series.
The LCD Expansion Module for IP Phone 1200 series is a hardware accessory that
connects to the IP Phone and provides additional line keys and feature keys. You can
place the IP Phone and LCD Expansion Module on your desktop, or you can wall-
mount the IP Phone and LCD Expansion Module.
The IP Phone 1200 series supports up to seven LCD Expansion Modules. The LCD
Expansion Modules are supported on the following phones:
IP Phone 1220
IP Phone 1230
The following figure shows the LCD Expansion Module. The LCD screen displays the
labels to indicate how each key has been programmed.

About your user-defined feature keys
Your system administrator assigns the user-defined feature keys as line, intercom, or memory keys. For
more information about how keys are assigned, see your system administrator.
Line and intercom keys
Line and intercom keys are assigned by your system administrator. Line keys are assigned to an
external line, and intercom keys are assigned to internal lines.
Memory keys
Memory keys are keys that are not assigned as line or intercom keys. Memory keys store internal and
external phone numbers or features to give you one-touch dialing or feature activation. You can program
a memory key with a new phone number or feature.
Programming external autodial
1 Press the Feature key.
2Enter *1.
3 Press a memory key.
4 Dial the external number.
5 Press OK to store the number.
The LCD screen displays the external number that is programmed for that key.
Programming internal autodial
1 Press the Feature key.
2Enter *2.
3 Press a memory key.
4 Dial the extension number.
5 Press OK to store the extension number.
The LCD screen displays the letters Ad and the extension name next to the key to indicate that autodial is
programmed.
Programming features
1 Press the Feature key.
2Enter *3.
3 Press a memory key.
4 Press the Feature key.
5 Enter the feature code.
6 Press OK to store the feature code.
Erasing memory keys
1 Press the Feature key.
2Enter *1.
3 Press a memory key.
4 Press OK to erase the phone number or feature code programmed on the key.
