• Fireplaces surfaces get EXTREMELY HOT!
• Install only when fireplace is OFF and COLD.
• The glass on the front of the fireplace reaches
EXTREMELY HIGH temperatures and can cause severe
burns if touched. Even after the gas is turned off,
fireplace surfaces remain extremely hot.
• Keep children away from an operating fireplace. Closely
supervise children in any room where a fireplace is
operating to prevent contact with glass.
CAUTION
RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.
• Never operate fireplace with glass door assemblies removed.
• Securely tighten door latch screws when reinstalling
glass door assemblies to prevent doors from falling out.
• Handle glass door assemblies with extreme care.
Replace damaged glass door assemblies with approved
replacement assemblies only.
• The door assemblies contain ceramic glass. Handle
with care to prevent damage. If the door frame or
glass becomes damaged, replace the entire glass door
assembly with a manufacturer-approved replacement
assembly only. Do not attempt to substitute any
materials used on door assemblies or replace cracked or
broken glass with any other materials.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The optional safety guard is designed to prevent incidental
contact with the glass front of the fireplaces listed in Table 1
when it is installed and used in accordance with these
installation instructions and the warnings, precautions, and
instructions included in the Installation Instructions and the
Care and Operation Instructions provided with the appliance.
NOTE: Improper or repeated installation and removal of
the optional safety guard could scratch, dent, or otherwise
damage the glass front of the appliance or the metal frame
surrounding it.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: The safety guard kit includes mounting hardware
for flush-face and surround-equipped Rhapsody and Elite
linear fireplaces.
1. Using Figure 1, identify and separate the eighteen (18)
safety guard brackets into three groups: six (6) flush-face
safety guard brackets, six (6) Rhapsody surround safety
guard brackets, and six (6) Sirius surround safety guard
brackets. Choose the correct safety guard brackets for the
desired application, and discard the remaining brackets.

2. Install one bracket clip onto the flat end of each safety
guard bracket by sliding the bracket clip over the bracket
and aligning the holes, as shown in Figure 2.

3. For surround-equipped fireplaces, only:
Gently pull out the lower edge of the bezel to detach it from
the lower edge of the glass door frame. Then, swing the
lower edge of the bezel away from the door and lift up to
unhook the bezel upper flange from the top edge of the
glass door frame, as shown in Figure 3.

4. Position and secure the six (6) safety guard brackets
identified in step 1, using the supplied screws, onto the
fireplace in the holes shown in Figure 4.
NOTE: The are two screw hole options for each of the
bottom safety guard brackets installation positions. Either is
acceptable for installation.

5. For surround-equipped Rhapsody fireplaces, only:
Reverse the process in step 3 to reinstall the bezel.
6. Position the safety guard on the safety guard brackets as
shown in Figure 6. Ensure the holes in the safety guard
brackets and the safety guard are aligned.

7. Secure the safety guard to the safety guard brackets with
the included screws.
