Thank you for purchasing this UFO light source/luminaire.
To ensure that the light source is set up optimally and gives a long service life, please read this
user guide before installing, operating or performing any maintenance on the unit.
Please keep this User Guide for future reference. This User Guide is laid out in three sections
Installation -details on how to connect your luminaire
Operation - details how to programme and set up your luminaire
Maintenance - maintenance log, troubleshooting guide, technical specification
MODELS COVERED BY THIS USER GUIDE
IMPORTANT
This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code, by a person
familiar with the construction and operation of the product, and the hazards involved.
These light sources are not mains dimmable.
The LED array in this light source is not replaceable. When it reaches end of life the whole unit
must be replaced.
Type Y Attachment: If the external flexible cable or cord of this luminaire or associated
PSU/driver is damaged, it shall be exclusively replaced by the manufacturer or his service agent
or a similar qualified person to avoid a hazard.
Location: Do not locate this light source closer than 200mm from any flammable surface.
Clearance / Ventilation: It is imperative that a gap of 200mm is le around the unit. This is to
allow air to circulate and prevent overheating. The location must have free ventilation and must
not have an ambient temperature higher than that specified for the luminaire.
Mounting: This luminaire comes with an integral mounting plate for securing the unit to a
vertical or horizontal surface. Refer to the instruction sheet supplied with the plate.
Warning: Never look directly at the luminaire through the fibre port of the light source.
Warning: The luminaire should be positioned so that prolonged staring into the
luminaire at a distance closer than 2.7 metres is not expected.
UFO MIC5000T DMX
This luminaire is supplied with a separate mounting plate. If using the mounting plate refer to the
fitting instructions supplied with it.

UFO LIGHTING
This luminaire is powered by a 12V Power Supply Unit or 12V Constant Voltage Driver. Remove the
PSU/driver from its box.
Connect the jack plug into the socket in the back, and the light source is now ready for connection.
POWER SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS
There are 3 connections required – the fibre port, the mains supply and the DMX cable. The
fibre port should be connected first. Connect and secure the fibre optic connector into the
silver collar and secure using the M5 locking screw
RJ45 DMX data sockets are provided at the rear of the Light Source.

Note:
A termination resistor of 120Ώ should be fitted at the end of DMX universes across DMX + and
DMX-. Although systems having a few devices and short cable runs may work well without, it
is always recommended that a termination plug be fitted
Plug the mains plug into the electrical supply socket. Switch on power the led Indicator will
illuminate and the Light Source will start up automatically. Before connecting up to DMX
control it is recommended that the Light Source be tested in Standalone manual control
STANDALONE CONTROL
To enter Standalone Mode switch DIP Switch 10 ON (down) and the twinkle wheel will turn
slowly. The Light Source can now be controlled using the DIP switch on the rear as shown in
the following table. Colours can be mixed by switching ON different colours at the same time

REMOTE DMX CONTROL
Now set the DMX address and connect up the Light Sources with the Remote Controller using the
RJ45 sockets provided on the back of the Light Source – it doesn’t matter which socket is used.

SETTING THE DMX ADDRESS
The DMX address of each light source is set manually using the DIP switch accessible on the rear
panel. Each switch number 1-9 indicates a binary number which added together make up the
DMX address.

Each light source occupies 5 DMX channels see Channel Table below.
The Twinkle wheel oscillates backwards and forwards avoiding the open segment. When Channel
5 value is set to 0 the Twinkle wheel will stop opposite the open segment to give full light.
