Measurements of the AN-23 cylinder (1 ½ x 9)

A = 507.5 mm when cylinder is in mid stroke i.e. Rudder angle = 0º

B = 52 mm

C = 25 mm when cylinder is fully ”contracted”.

D = 52 mm

How to calculate exact length of tiller arm at a specific rudder angle.

X = The length of the cylinder when cylinder is in midstroke =

rudder angle is 0º = cylinder length is 114.5 mm.

Y = Length of tiller arm.

α= Rudder angle.

Y = X / sin α

= arc sin (x / y)

WARNING!

Do not use shorter tiller arm than 150 mm or longer

tiller arm than 200 mm.
