1.1 Installation
Who might install ?
This installation must be performed by technical personnel only.
1.2 General safety instructions
Caution
Installing the ceiling mount should be performed only after your are thoroughly familiar with all of the following safety checks and
installation instructions. To do otherwise increases the r isk of hazards and injury to the user.
Use of the support
The support is designed for intended use, only with the Barco XLM series projectors. Use w ith any other appliance / projector may
result in instability causing possible injury.
Do not modify
Do not modify and / or replicate any component. Barco uses specific materials and manufacturing processes in order to achieve
part strength. Consult Barco for assistance with custom applications.
Installation instructions
Always follow the Barco installation instruction. Contact Barco if you have any question regarding the safety of an app lication.
Warning
The ceiling should be capable of sup porting a weight of at least 5 tim
es the total weight of ceiling mount and projector. If it cannot,
the ceiling must be reinforced. Improper installation may result in serious personal injury.
Consult a professional structural engineer prior to suspending the c eiling mount from a structure not intended for that use. Always
ensure the working load limit of the structure supporting the Ceiling m ount.
1.3 Product care
Overview
Ceiling mount components should be kept dry, clean, lubricated (if re quired), coated properly, and otherwise maintained in a manner
consistent with part design. Barco products shou
ld be used in a manner consistent with their design and inspected on a routine
basis for security, wear, deformation, corrosion and any other circumstances that ma y effect the load handling capability of the part.
Barco recommends inspections at least once a year for all installations and increasing in frequency for more critical installations. If
the partisfound tohave damage, which may cause adecrease in load capability, thepart must be removed from service immediately.

le by anyone other than Barco.

3. MOUNTING THE RIGGING KIT
3.1 XLM suspension configurations
What has to be done ?
Depending the mounting configuratio n to the suspension support, the long or short fixation bars have to be used. Direct mounting
to the projector studs is also possible.
Configuration with projector and large suspension bars.

3.2 Mounting with the long U-profiles
3.2.1 Preparing the U-profiles
What has to be done ?
Two clamps have to be mounted per U-profile.
Necessary tools
• Hexagonal Allen key 8 mm
• 2xWrench17mm
Necessary parts
• 2x U-profiles ( R843460 )
• 4x clamps (R8445 74)
• 8x washer (Z3675541)
• 8x nut (R366116)
Mounting the clamps
1. Measure the distance, center to center, between the two used support bars of a truss. (image 3-5)
2. Turn a nut fully on t he clamp bolt (1). (image 3-6)
3. Slide a washer over th e bolt (2).
4. Place the clamp on the inside of the U-profile, matching o ne of the provided slots in the U-profile.
5. Slide a second washer on the bolt ( 3).
6. Turn a nut on the bold to fix the clamp(4).
7. Repeat these steps fo r the second clamp and insert in the second slot. Take care of the measured distance between both support
bars.
8. Repeat this procedure for the secon d U-profile.

When hooki ng up the projecto r, level adjustment is still possible by loosing bolt 4 and secu ring the correct
position with bolt 1.

3.2.2 Mounting the U-profiles to the studs
What has to be done ?
The U-profile with clamp assembly has to be mounted to the projector studs.
Necessary tools
• Hexagonal Allen key 8 mm
• Wrench 17 mm
Necessary parts
• 8x bolt M10 x 40 (G115820)
• 8x washer D125A D10.5 D20 (V3673836)
Mounting the U-profiles
1. Place the U-profile on the studs so that the fixation holes matches the holes in the studs. (image 3-7)
2. Slide a washer on each bolt.
3. Fixate the U-prof ile by turning in 4 bolts.
4. Repeat this procedure for the secon d U-profile.

3.3.1 Preparing the U-profiles

How to mount ?
1. Turn a nut on each bolt of the clamp. (image 3-11)
2. Slide a washe r on the bolt.
3. Turn the clamp bolt into th e fixation hole
s of the projector studs.
4. Repeat this procedure for the other 3 clamps.
5. Turn the clamps in the same direction.

Clamps to studs
Level adjustment (for small differences) is still possible. Turn out the clamp to adjust the level a little bit, b ut
be aware not to turn out too far, otherwise the projector will fall down.
3.5 Mounting the long U-profiles with forklift guides
3.5.1 Preparing the U-profiles w ith the clam p
What has to be done ?
The p rocedure to mount th e clamps to the U-profile is the same as for the configuration of mounting the long U-profiles directly to
the projector. Therefore, see "Preparing the U-profiles", page 8 .
3.5.2 Preparing the U-profiles w ith the forklift guides
What is possible ?
When the use of a forklift is necessary to mount the projector to the rigging system, 4 forklift guides can be mounted U-profile so
that the it is easily to lift up the projector.

• 4x forklift guide (R845179)
How to mount ?
1. Pull the bolts of the forklift guide on the outside through one of the slots of U-profile ( A). (image 3-12)
2. Slideawasheroneachbolt(B).
3. Turn a nut on e ach bolt and secure the position o f the forklift guide (C).
4. Repeat for the second guide on the same U -profile. Take care for the distance between both forklift guides.
5. Repeat this procedure for the secon d U-profile.

3.5.3 Mounting the U-profiles to the studs

Hexagonal Allen key 8 mm
Necessary parts
• 8x Screw D912 M10 x 120 (B361761)
• 8x Washer D125A D10,5D2 0 (V36 73836)
• 4x forklift blocs (R845178)
How to mount ?
1. Slide a washer (B) on e ach screw (C) of the first U -profile. (image 3-13)
2. Pull the screws with the washers through the ho
les in the U-profile.
3. Slide on each side of the U-profile a forklift bloc (A) on the screws.
4. Position this combination on the provided holes in the projector studs.
5. Turn in the screws to fixate the U-profile.
6. Repeat this procedure for second U-profile.

3.6 Using the clamp
How to use ?
1. Loosen the fixation handle by turning counter clockw ise. (image 3-14)
2. Hook the clamp on the truss pipe.
3. Secure by turning the fixation handle clockwise.
