Safety

• Do not install this device during a lightning storm.

• For indoor use only.

• Do not install the surge protector in a hot or excessively moist location.

• Do not use with aquarium equipment.

Installation

1. Plug the surge protector into a grounded outlet only.

2. Plug the power cord from your electrical equipment into the surge protector outlets 9.

Note: Verify the device to be protected operates correctly before plugging it into the surge

protector.

3. Press the Power switch 1 to the “I” position.

Circuit Breaker 2 When an output overload condition occurs, the power automatically turns off,

disconnecting all equipment from the surge protector. Unplug all connected equipment, then press the

circuit breaker 2 to reset the surge protector. Then re-plug all equipment.

Surge protection indicator

- When the unit is plugged in and turned on, the green Surge protection

indicator illuminates to show the surge protector is capable of helping protect equipment from harmful

electrical surges. If the Indicator does not illuminate when the unit is plugged in and turned on, the

unit has sustained damage and is no longer capable of helping protect your equipment. It should be

returned according to the instructions provided by Schneider Electric IT (SEIT) Technical Support.

Ground OK Indicator 4 (PMS53-TH, PMS53U-TH, PMS63-TH, PMS63U-TH) - When the surge

protector is plugged in and power is turned on, the Ground OK Indicator illuminates (green) to show

that the power source outlet is properly grounded. If the Ground OK Indicator does not illuminate,

there is a problem with the building wiring. Employ a qualified and licensed electrician to correct the

problem.

Overload indicator 5 (PMS63-TH and PMS63U-TH)- If this indicator illuminates, disconnect

devices until the indicator extinguishes.

USB Charging Port 6 (PMS53U-TH and PMS63U-TH)- Two convenient USB charging ports power

any USB enabled devices, including smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, etc. Smart Charging

recognizes your devices and maximizes charging speed.

Cord Management Guide 7 (PMS53-TH, PMS53U-TH, PMS63-TH and PMS63U-TH) - A 180-

degree rotating cord management allows the power cord to be positioned either left or right and can be

used while wall-mounted 8.

Specifications

Limited Warranty

The standard warranty is 10 years from the date of purchase. APC standard procedure is to replace the

original unit with a factory reconditioned unit. Customers who must have the original unit back due to

the assignment of asset tags and set depreciation schedules must declare such a need at first contact

with an APC Technical Support representative. APC will ship the replacement unit once the defective

unit has been received by the repair department, or cross-ship upon the receipt of a valid credit card

number. The customer pays for shipping the unit to APC. APC pays ground freight transportation

costs to ship the replacement unit to the customer.
