General Information
General description
The heat pump of the split system air-air type allows air
conditioning both in summer as well as in winter by inverting
its operating cycle.
It is made up of two units: one to be installed outdoors and
another to be installed indoors.
To operate, they must be interconnected electrically and
frigorifically.
The combination of the BCHO heat pump as the outdoor
unit, with BCI, BLI or BVI as the indoor unit, allows easy
installation due to their limited dimensions and assembly
characteristics.
Nomenclature
equipped with internal protection of the motor. Includes an
electric heater for heating oil in the sump, which makes
start-ups easier and avoids oil being removing from the
compressor.
Coils
Of a large surface, made of grooved copper tubing and
notched aluminium fins.
Fans BCHO
Centrifugal, with direct drive motor. Sufficient pressure avail-
able for the installation of ducts and optional accessories.
Casing BCHO
Made of galvanised steel sheeting, finished with oven-poly-
merised powdered paint, which allows installing outdoors.
Insulated internally so as to avoid condensation of humid-
ity and reduce noise level. These units are equipped with
galvanised trays, with corresponding drains, for collecting
condensation from the coils.
Cooling circuit
Made of welded copper tubing. These units are supplied
with their corresponding optimised refrigerant charge and
having passed the maximum pressure and airtightness tests.
Refrigerant expansion is carried out by means of calibrated
holes and distributors located in both the indoor as well as
outdoor units. The circuit includes: four-way valve, suction
accumulator, high and low pressure switches, and suction
and discharge pressure intakes.
Refrigerant
These units are manufactured with R-407C refrigerant.
Fan (BVI, BCI or BLI indoor units)
Of the centrifugal type, 3 speeds, direct drive and mounted
on shock absorbers.
Complementary heater (indoor units)
Of the exposed wire type to allow fast heat dispersion, avoid-
ing temperature inertia that could affect the components.
Equipped with contactor and thermal protector.
Casing (indoor units)
Made of galvanized aluminium steel sheeting and finished
with oven polymerized powdered paint. Insulated internally
so as to avoid condensation of humidity and reduce noise
level.
Equipped with a galvanised tray, with corresponding drain,
for collecting condensation from the coil.
There is sufficient space inside for fitting the electric heat-
er.
On BLI units, the electric heater is installed externally, in
the duct.
Cooling interconnection
The cooling connection of the units should be made at the
time of installation at the job site. See the cooling connection
table in the Physical Data section.

Accessible directly from outside. Includes: connecting strip,
protectors, electronic board and probes, power supply con-

tactors, operating relay and transformer. Complies with the
European standards in force.
Thermostat
The BCHO units include, as standard equipment, the elec-
tronic DPC-1 thermostat.
For connecting the thermostat to the board, screened 10 x
0.22 mm² communication cable should be used.
Ambient thermostat DPC-1
Programmable digital thermostat with communication
This thermostat was designed to give close control of the
ambient temperature and graphic information regarding
the mode it is currently operating in. This control unit, in
accordance with the differential between the programmed
temperature and the ambient temperature, responds varying
the on/off cycles.
The liquid crystal display (LCD) normally indicates the ambi-
ent temperature, operating mode and whether the system is
in heat or cool.
It allows selecting different set point temperatures for cool and
heat, besides choosing between °C and °F on the display.
Fan operation can be in continuous or automatic mode, off
or in operation along with the compressor. Three speeds
can be selected.
The controls are beneath a cover.
