1.3 ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Note: Installationmustbemadeinaccordancewithlocalcodesandregulations.
Electricalconnectionsaremadetotheremovableterminalblocksinsidetheenclosure.Removethetopbackcover,
donotremovebottomcover.Feedstrippedandtinnedleadsthroughtheconduitopeningandconnectthemasshown
inFigure3.TheEDAprovidestwo1/2˝NPTfemaleportsforconduitconnection.Theconduitconnectionsmustbe
madesuchthatcondensationisnotallowedtoenterthesensorhousing.Ifnecessaryinstallaconduitbreatherdrain
inaseparateconduitbodytopreventbuildupofmoisture.Itisrecommendedthatshieldedtwistedpairwirebeused
forthetransmitteroutputoptionifthepotentialexistsforinterferencefromexternalnoisesources.Whenreplacingtop
backcovertightenscrewsto2±.25in.lbs.
LoadscanbeconnectedtoconnectorsCONN7andCONN8terminalblocksbasedontheControlsettings:
•Forsinglesetpointmode(CtrL-1SP),connecttheLoadtoSP1relay(CONN7).
•Fortwosetpointsmode(CtrL-2SP),connecttheLoad1toSP1relay(CONN7)and
Load2toSP2relay(CONN8).
•Forsinglesetpointandalarmmode(CtrL-SPAL),connecttheLoad1toSP1relay
(CONN7)andLoad2toALARMrelay(CONN8).
Wiring
Anexternalswitchorcircuitbreakershouldbeaddedtoduringtheinstallationasadisconnectingdevice.Theswitch
orcircuitbreakermustmeettherequirementsofIEC60947-1andIEC60947-3,shalldisconnectallcurrentcarrying
conductors,andshallnotinterrupttheprotectiveearthground.Thedisconnectingswitchorcircuitbreakermustbe
markedorlabeledwiththesymbols“I”foronand“O”foroff,perIEC60417-5007&IEC60417-5008andshallbe
markedas“DisconnectingDevice”.DonotpositionthePLSinaspacewhereitisdifculttooperatethedisconnecting
devicethatprovidespower.300V@90°C18AWG/0.75mm2wiringwithPVCorequivalentinsulationwith94-V0or
FV-0ammabilityratingisrecommendedfortheswitchoutputsandpower.Terminalblocksratedfor16-22solidor
strandedcopperconductor.6lbinissuggestedtighteningtorque.

For voltage output option, connect the
voltage receiver (-) to terminal 1 and
voltage receiver (+) to terminal 2 of the
CONN10 terminal block. For current
outputoption,connectthecurrentreceiver
(-) to terminal 3 and current receiver
(+) to terminal 4 of CONN10 terminal

Asapermanentlyinstalledpieceofequipment,apowerdisconnectswitch,circuitbreaker,orother
approveddisconnectdevicemustbeinstalledincloseproximitytotheinstalledboardandwithin
easyreachoftheoperator.Thisdisconnectdevicemustincludealabelindicatingitsfunctionasamainsdisconnect.
Acircuitbreakerorfusedeviceisrecommended(seeFigure3).
