Azimuth Limit Switch Replacement
Instructions for TracVision
®
R6
The following instructions explain how to replace the azimuth
limit switch in a TracVision R6.

1. Turn off the antenna and disconnect power to all
wired components.
2. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the eight
screws securing the radome. Remove the radome
and set it aside in a safe place.
CAUTION
To avoid bodily injury, be sure to turn off the antenna and disconnect
power to all wired components.
To preserve the integrity of the radome’s weather sealing gasket, be
sure to remove the radome slowly and gently.

3. Disconnect the limit switch cable from the azimuth
limit switch.
4. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the three
screws securing the azimuth limit switch to the
rotating plate.

Be careful not to drop any screws inside the antenna. If a screw is lost
within the baseplate, it must be retrieved to avoid causing damage
when the unit rotates.

5. Remove the azimuth limit switch.
6. Reverse this process to install the replacement
azimuth limit switch. Replace the radome, then
restore any power connections that you terminated
earlier.
The azimuth limit switch replacement process is complete! Be sure
to return the old azimuth limit switch to KVH.
To preserve the integrity of the radome’s weather seal, be sure to
reinstall the radome slowly and gently. Ensure that the weather
sealing gasket does not roll in any way while you are tightening the
radome screws.

screws are threaded properly
before tightening.
Before returning the azimuth limit switch, be sure to obtain an RMA
number from KVH Technical Support and write the number clearly on
the outside of the box. Shipments received without an RMA number
will be returned to you at your expense.
