5.3 Safety measures when handling the battery
NOTICE
Lithium batteries represent a safe and reliable energy source when used properly. However, these
potential consequences may occur if they are used incorrectly or misused:
• Theleakageofbatteryuidor
the escape of gas or, in extreme circumstances,
• areand/or
• explosion.
Do not reverse the polarity of the battery. Note the + and – symbols on the battery and device.
If batteries are inserted the wrong way they can be short-circuited or charged with the potential conse-
quences described above.
Do not short-circuit the battery.
If the positive pole (+) of a battery is connected directly to the negative pole (–), a short-circuit may occur with
the potential consequence described above. It is best to store unused batteries in their original packaging.
Do not charge batteries
Trying to charge a non-rechargeable battery may lead to it overheating with the potential consequences
described above.
Do not over-discharge batteries
If batteries are over-discharged on an external power supply, the battery voltage is dragged below the
value for which they were designed with the potential consequences described above.
Remove and dispose of depleted batteries immediately
Although lithium batteries are exceptionally leak-proof, it is more likely for a leak to occur with a depleted
battery rather than with an unused battery.
Do not overheat batteries
Electrolyte may be released if a battery overheats. Separators may also be impaired with the potential
consequences described above.
Do not open batteries
Ifabatterycellisopened,thecomponentsmaycauseaninjuryorre.
Do not damage batteries
Lithium batteries should not be crushed, drilled or damaged in any other way as this may lead to the
potential consequences described above.
Do not throw batteries into a re
Ifbatteriesarethrownintoare,thismayleadtothepotentialconsequencesdescribedabove.Only
dispose of batteries by burning them in an incinerator approved for this purpose.
Do not bring the content of lithium batteries into contact with water
This may lead to the formation of hydrogen and lead to the potential consequences described above.
Store batteries out of the reach of children
Store batteries out of reach of children, especially if they could be swallowed. Seek immediate medical
advice if a battery is swallowed.

5.4 Safety measures when handling the touch screen
NOTICE
The display may become illegible due to pressure marks and scratches.
Press the touch screen lightly and do not touch it with sharp objects.
! WARNING
The ow meter system may uncontrolled restart.
Shutdowntheowmetertocleanthetouchscreen.
NOTICE
Detergents may attack the surface of the touch screen.
Do not use solvents for cleaning.
Clean the touch screen with a soft damp cloth.
If necessary, use pure alcohol (observe the safety data sheet)
5.5 Prevention of obvious misapplications (examples)
• Donotconnecttheoperatingunitwithotherelectronicdevicesiftheirusabilityisnotconrmedbythe
