Battery replacement recommended every 6 months
or when a low battery condition exists
The KA1000NR has a low battery detect feature and the LED
will turn RED during transmission.
The display of the KA1000 and the RED LED on the
KA1000RR will also flash when receiving a signal from a
transmitter with a low battery condition.

Remove back casing of the unit and verify 10 position code
switch matches with the corresponding receivers. (KA1000
alarm clock receiver or KA1000RR remote receiver)
Install 9 volt (1604 type) battery and turn on the unit. (Slide the
POWER switch to the ON position).
Press the TEST button of the unit for a minimum of 3 seconds.
The LED indicator will turn ORANGE when the unit is transmit-
ting for 3 seconds or more.
Ensure the corresponding receiving unit activates indicating a
received signal from the KA1000NR transmitter.
Placement
Place the KA1000NR with MIC (microphone) as close to the
baby as possible and not more than 5 feet away.
Place the KA1000NR with the MIC (microphone) pointing
towards the source of the sound, audio alarm, or door chime
being monitored.
Sensitivity adjustment
Activate the device being monitored. (e.g. chime/alarm) the
LED will illuminate GREEN when the MIC picks up sound.
If the LED does not come on then move the sound sensitivity
adjustment to a “HIGH” sensitivity level and test again.
If the MIC is triggered for 3 seconds or more the LED of the unit
will illuminate ORANGE.
